Indulgent TF 06 - The Cat Formerly Known As Steve
In light of revelations that the world is starting to change, the team decides it is better to go shopping Sooner rather than After All the Food Is Gone. Things are already starting to get wiggly in town, but thankfully we can gather all the chalupa ingredients needed.
Leon finds a depressed retail worker, and helps package him for further transport. Fur-ther transport.
Dawn sets up wards around the base, and is pleased with the fancy special effects.
The shopping trip is cut in half due to length. We already have three votes, and this is probably the longest chapter at almost 6 pages. Why are you still reading this part? Go! TF awaits.
EDIT: Art has been added! This lovely picture by
rakete. They're very prolific, with lots of the raunchier sorts of TF. This one is clean though, with kitty feels.

Future TF: I'd put checkmarks next to Beast, Forest, Dawn, and Leon. The rest are either unappealing or uncomfortable to me. But that's just me, and I'm hardly your entire audience.
Wards: Let's go with Lilac's ward. There's no risk of enemy projectiles for the time being, TFing people unexpectedly will most likely be misconstrued as antagonistic, and I don't like messing with people's minds. We can switch to Dawn's ward if things start going south.
Steve: I'm making a custom request for this one. He wanted adventure, but he shouldn't have to become inanimate to see it; inanimate TFs are too close to death for my liking. I'd make him a battle pet of some sort, something that can somehow support and/or protect his master in dangerous situations. I'm sure my peers can come up with something more specific, if necessary.

Steve: Bouncing off of Sonic's battle pet idea, I'm thinking something like a ringtail taur. He can be an intelligent mount with helping hands, and the musk that the species sprays in defense can have the trope of transforming people if it hits them.

Hey, I'm a recent new watcher, found you when reading the "Status Shift" contest entries. I'm liking this so far, so here's my indulgent votes:

He needs sleep first, and when he's ready he should be offered a position as a research assistant to Dawn. Any creature which complements Dawn's abilities and gives him opportunities to discover and learn.
Wards: While it is still early days, Strive or Lilac. If our party starts feeling some heat, then Forest's ward can both help the party's mood and help defuse confrontation.

I like this idea. Perhaps a "wizard's familiar" of sorts? It could even overlap with my "battle pet" suggestion.

"Seeing cool things" and "finding reasons for things" sounds like a textbook (pun not intended) researcher in the making. He might be happy as a familiar or pet, but I think an apprenticeship role fits him better. Dawn's approach to magic isn't necessarily about the logic behind it: "Why bother with numbers when force of intention would do?" TCFKAS could counterbalance that approach.

I second Thingsarentsobad's nomination for becoming Dawn's research assistant. Not just a feral familiar, though. He seemed bitter about being unable to grow and advance in the grocery store; an apprenticeship is the epitome of growth opportunity.
I want Leon's ward. Love me some gradual tfs, and it filters us to the people who would be most responsive to the TF.
