Magick Paths - Necromancy
For some folks when they hear the word " Necromancy " the first thing that might come to their minds are rising skeletons and deathly visages of the departed. Something reserved for grim folks and wicked dabblers in the occult. And while I do not debate there is a fair share of actual practitioners, there is certainly much more to it than raising an undead legion. would it surprise you that just about everyone, including you, has some form of innate Necromatic ability?
We're all attached to the world. To be alive is to share a bond of the rhythm and warmth only a heart can bring. It also means we share the same destination, the same energy and inevitability as the honorable dead. We are influenced by the living in the light of day, but we too come into contact with death in the darkness of night. In our moments of unconsciousness both waking and asleep do those barriers we hold up loosen a bit for this to happen.
We become channelers of unworldly things. Vessels for which ethereal notions and unknown reservoirs flow. Some perceive it as an energy which runs through them. Others as decipherable emotions waiting to be understood and formed tangibly. In many ways it is artists who are unknowingly quite receptive to this energy, this power.
Some turn to scrying and divination. Others towards matters of communication and even conjuration. The history of our world is filled with speakers of spirits and the gods, and it has come both to us and through us in nearly every facet of cultural expression.
It is an art. And this must never be forgotten for the arts are within all of us, each within. Buried in that darkness which obscures all reality and time. The truth is buried in this world, but it seeps up around us all. Some just hear and see it differently.
