were pretty sure the moms dead theres a dead skunk on the road not too far away from where we found it but we havent been able to find any other babies. the good thing is it looks to be weened so we dont have to bottle feed it which is a real pain. ill probably only keep it for a week or two then take it out to a place that is less populated and release it. the most ive ever kept a wild animal is 4 months and those were baby squirrels that were blown out of a tree in a hurricane the survival rate was about 30% but 5 survived (gives you an idea of how many i found)
Still. They're old enough to find food on their own and they don't need their mother for that :)
I've found baby skunks that were this big: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped.....illitos_02.jpg
and they were old enough to walk out of their hole, eat curly fries out of my hands and crawl around in the grass.

ya this one can easily fit in my hand...but it would probably bite me if i got near it which is what i like to see. i mostly avoid contact and the thing im most concerned is not the age but the neighborhood. there are alot of dogs and busy roads around where i found it so i will probably take it over to a local nature reserve when i have time and a open bed pick-up truck so my car doesn't get sprayed like my dogs did, theyre sleeping outside tonight.
