COASAM: How to Be Irritatingly Annoying
The latest in my series of "Compositions of a Stupid Autistic Mind," which are either repetitive on purpose or are just stupid little melodies I improvise. Why? It represents the annoying things I used to do as a child, which proved to my parents I really am autistic. This whole series of compositions are based on dreams I have from time to time, which are flashbacks of my childhood. These repetitive melodies, therefore, are generally either things I improvised and they stuck with me, or were based on things I discovered I remembered wrong. Alternately, they're sometimes relevant to a current event in my life, or just represent what mood I am in right now (or otherwise tell the story of my life).
This one just represents how, as a kid, I'd irritate my parents to death by making sounds and noises, but one way it led them to discover I had autism was that these sounds and noises always pointed to one thing: percussion. Alternatively, I imagined music like this could be used to fool my enemies (at least according to the scenes my imagination improvised).
Thus, the piece is for:
Timpani
Concert snare drum
Concert bass drum
Concert toms
Crash cymbals
Splash cymbal
Cowbell
Tambourine
Battery percussion
