For all those fond childhood memories...
For all those countless hours spent...
These were good times....
Because MegaMan 2-4 simply were the best in the whole series.
Done in FL Studio9 in approx 4 hours.
(please download for better quality if you like ^^ Also.. what do you guys think?)
Also, if you listen, then PLEASE listen to the whole thing. It picks up speed "slightly" as it goes :)

Well on things like personal taste there hardly is such a thing as a biased opinion.
I say these were the best because capcom didn't have to re-use ideas like later in the series. I mean, plant man? Splash woman? There are just so many types before it all gets rather odd and "I saw that idea already, just in another color" and god help us if there ever will be a candy-man.

You mean, Fire man and Heat man were not loosely the same, recycled idea? Yes, but besides the robot master innovations, the series increases in abilities with each game.
1: Magnet Beam, for climbing walls or making some weak platforms.
2: Items 1-3, fragile mobility units.
3: Sliding, and Rush, the convertible whore.
4: Mega Buster charging, Rush perfection, and the Wire / Balloon items. Hello, Eddy the briefcase robot.
5: Modified Mega Buster charge effect, and introduction to Beat. Star arrow is a nice Item2 memory.
6: Rush transformations, Jet and Power, to allow quicker maneuvers over smaller amounts of time with no energy drawback.
7: Introduction to the Rush adapter, which combines the Rush transformations. Weapons play an important geographical effect in many levels. Robot partners act differently (Mega Buster gets weaker?) Introduction to Bass and Treble, and Dr. Wily's counterpart to Dr. Light's Ceratanium, the Bassinium. Also, currency.
8: Introduction to Anime. We didn't have no 'evil energy' back then and robots didnt duke it out in outer space either. But eh, it's capcom. It introduces more tool-based weapons.
MM&B: As shown in one of the mandatory levels, all weapons are tools. People are more incited to using them than the regular buster. Most Rush abilities are downgraded, but they balance with allowing two different characters with two different play styles.
9: OMG I MISS MM2 IT WAS THE BESTESTESTESTEST! This is Megaman 2, but with different weapons that act as tools.
10: I still don't know what to say. It's like they grabbed 9 and stuffed a bunch of abilities and characters in it.
For me, if I HAD to pick a favorite, I wouldn't be able to. I tend to just deal with what's there. and it depends on what I'd want to play. It's all a matter of personal taste.
As you may complain a lot about it, my favorite series is the Battle Network series.
I also like your 'candy man' idea. I'm sure Capcom does its best to pick not-so-retarded ideas, made by fans. (I haven't seen an Iced Man or a Heated Man or even worse, a Ninja Man... So we know Capcom revises their robot ideas. the goal in there is to give those robots a purpose that's not simply 'killing using a pattern' that's seen outside of actual gameplay. Megaman & Bass had the CDs to tell the story behind the robots and MM9-10 gave a loose idea of their uses.

Excellent remix, Netsuko! i've listened to it several times through already now before making my comment on here. it definitely starts out very slow and quiet so it doesn't have that "bang" at the beginning that grabs one's attention but is well-worth the investment of time to listen all the way through. :D
i like how it sounds when it's slower too, btw. i've always thought that more MegaMan songs would sound awesome if they were slowed down to be almost like lounge-music or something that sounds slightly romantical. i think the best one for this is Spark Mandriller's music from MMX, when slowed down and played right it sounds like a dramatic slow western musical number. ^..^
so yeah, excellent mix, sharkie. i'm looking forward to more of your talent :3

Heh, thanks for the extensive breakdown of the track. It really gives me a lot of information I can consider next time, since listening to your own works over and over again while working on it, tend's to make yourself more and more unaware of smaller details which might need change.
I'll say this much, the music itself is pretty good. At least after the first two minutes, I know you're trying to add more to it, but if you liked 2-4 as much as you've claimed, why not include themes from 3 or 4? Like the intro theme to 3 at least. All I hear is how nostolgiafags are always raving about MM2 Wily castle theme again and again and again, it's all over youtube even now more is being made. But, if you were to somehow COMBINE themes from ALL the megaman games, at least up till 9, then that would be something spectacular instead of just making another MM2 remix. Or in your case, something from 2-4 would be nice as well like I've first stated. I can tell you've got the ability to do so, just would like to see something different instead of "to make megaman tribute, insert MM2 Wily theme remix here" trend like on youtube (seems like almost EVERYONE forgets the first Megaman).
Now, as for the idea of the tribute...correct me if I'm not getting this right but if I am, then personally, I can't really stand this. Seems to me that you go on saying how everything in the past was great and nothing in the Megaman series now can ever be as good EVER! Not even MM9, 10 I have yet to play. Sure it's you opinion about how you enjoyed those games in the series. But I just don't like when so many people rant and rave about their 'childhoods' over and over and not focusing on anything in the future. And as VicksHB stated, it's a matter of taste as I too like Battle Network, my favorite series is Megaman X (aside from 7, it sucked ASS!). Even so, I'm not gonna make tributes because "*sigh* I spent so much time playing these...I wish I could go back and relive it..." Again, not sure if this is YOUR specific reason for making this tribute. Could be for a multitude, but if it's about being depressed over your childhood like that weeaboo song Okkusenman, then what I've said here applies to you.

The second part I mentioned is something that's bugged me, after finding the english lyrics to Okkusenman, I no longer have a tolerance for that kind of 'nostalgia' since it does more harm than good. And the tributes (mainly to MM2) feel a bit...stock, just would like to see something different.
