I can only say: very good work - respect!!!! ^__^
I comment this here 'cause I've just seen the real photo and 'cause this is exactely the way I compose my own artworks... at least most of them. ^^" And I'm not always using my own body, 'cause I'm not that slim/handsome (I'm not fat, either).
In many artworks, I just need a pose for inspiration... or a hand... or feet. And in these cases I do use my own body.
For example (this isn't supposed to be advertisment for my art here):

I have placed a camera below my own body and "transformed" the shot into my comic character/fursona. ^___^
Okay, this might not interest you... but I hope you don't mind reading this.
After all, this artwork caught my attention and the "transformation from real human into the anthro persona" has been done very well!
Most of all, you're managed to transform the specific "anthro parts", like the hands or the head, onto the real body. It's always the most challanging part to add the animal-ish head to a real human body... and keeping the proportions and making the overall look of this believable!
Well done!
Take care and keep it up!
