“Since when did we have a dress code?” griped Pluie, the raincoat wearing white duck, as she and her friends made their way to Toon Loon Elementary. “Diaper covers are stupid!”
Asher, the jovial blue dragon, was finding himself in a losing battle with the black gym shorts he had on over his diaper.
“It seems unfair to me,” he remarked while tugging up his shorts to cover his diaper. All these do is make my pamps play peekaboo.”
Poppy, a green hummingbird with feathered red hair, shrugged her shoulders.
“I like the color of my diaper cover,” she remarked while using a wing to lift up to view the lavender-colored garment that came between her purple skirt and diaper. “Though I know others at school who wear skirts and they don’t have to put anything on underneath.”
“You’re right!” announced Pluie upon knowing how many Pampless Prodigies wore skirts. “Do you know if anyone else got this ‘Dress Code’ letter?”
“Well,” thought Meezoo, the jovial penguin who had on his trademark blue handkerchief scarf. “We are kind of a unique group and, unless one of you guys thought to do so, I didn’t ask any of those stuck-up goobers if they got the same note in their cubby at the end of school on Friday.”
Poppy, Pluie, and Asher all performed very exaggerated shrugs before releasing deep sighs in which were complimented by white puffs of air that faded away shortly after leaving their mouths.
“Hey, Meezoo?” asked Asher upon taking notice of how their penguin pal wasn’t doing the ‘Slip Shorts Shuffle’ that he had to do in order to keep his shorts from bunching up around his ankles. “How come you don’t need to keep hitching up your shorts like I do?”
SNAP!
“Rubber swim pants!” he cheered after giving the translucent-blue front waistband of his special speedo a generous tug outward before allowing it to snap firmly back over the landing zone of his diaper.
“You know, Poppy,” stated Pluie as she took her brown painter’s cap from her head and began to twirl it upon one of her feathered fingers. “My pink poncho has always covered as much of my rump as Pampless Pecky’s dress has. If I don’t see her with something over that bulbous behind of hers when we get to school…”
FWOO-IP!
The blonde-haired duck launched her hat from her finger and drew a wooden paddle from within it as it spun and landed perfectly upon her head.
“…I’m going to swat that prissy pigeon to the moon!”
Asher grinned as he held up his shorts with one hand and scratched an itch between the two horns on his blue-haired head with the other.
“Sounds like fun!” he giggled before continuing to struggle with his shorts that kept slipping off his diapers. “I really need to get better at what you, Poppy, and Meezoo do.”
Yosh can do it, too,” added Pluie while slipping the giant paddle into the back of her raincoat. “He just needs to stop worrying about everything and just do it!”
Yosh, the green-and-white colored dino-duckling gulped as attention had been brought to him.
“Hey, Yosh?” wondered Pluie. “You ain’t normally this quiet. What’s up?”
Yosh’s white feathered cheeks burned red.
“Now you look here!” she firmly stated before snapping her fingers.
PUMPF
“Yipes!” cried Yosh as Poppy’s pet duck, Puddles, appeared behind him and used his steel toed boots to execute a firm kick to the dino-duckling’s padded posterior. This action caused clouds of powder to billow from the leg holes and waistband of the blue shorts Yosh was wearing to meet the newly created dress code.
“Quack-Quack-Quack!” the feral duck laughed while proudly saluting Pluie before returning to follow behind Poppy. His bill stuck up in the air with pride at how he was becoming a Toon Loon, too.
Yosh dusted the powder from his shorts and baby-blue shirt as he continued to look anxiously towards his friends.
“Hey!” cried Asher upon noticing how Yosh’s shorts weren’t sliding off of the dino-duckling’s diaper. “How come you don’t need to keep hitching up your shorts, Yosh?”
Yosh nervously laughed before giving his response.
“Uh,” he said while fidgeting with his fingers. “It’s because this isn’t the first time I’ve had to wear something over my diapers.”
“Whoa!” exclaimed Pluie as she zipped towards Yosh. “What haven’t you told me and why haven’t you told me it?”
Sweat appeared on Yosh’s green-scaled forehead as he made a very audible, and visual, gulp.
“TELL ME!” demanded Pluie as she took hold of the dino-duckling’s shoulders and started to shake him to the point that he turned into a rug-like version of himself that shot out plumes of powder with each powerful shake.
It was now Asher’s turn to gulp and sweat as he looked towards Meezoo.
“Remind me to never get on her bad side,” he said while leaning down enough to softly say his thought to his penguin pal.
Meezoo pulled his flight goggles down over hiseyes.
“Love makes you see things in different ways,” he replied. “So you don’t need to worry about anything, Asher.”
The dragon ran a hand through his hair and grabbed the furry end of his tail. This made his shorts drop to his ankles, but he was too lost in thought to worry about it.
FWA-SPOP!
Pluie released Yosh, which allowed him to return to his normal form, before she glared towards Meezoo.
“I didn’t hear you say what I thought I heard you say?” she glared as the pupils of her eyes turned into flickering flames. “Well, Meezoo?”
The penguin pulled his scarf up to cover his beak.
“Nope,” he said like a cowboy from a Spaghetti Western film. “I ain’t sayin’ nuttin’, madam.”
FSSSH
The fire in her eyes extinguished itself with a plume of grey smoke. She then blinked and her eyes returned to their normal, blue color.
“I think you broke him,” stated Poppy as she steadied the dazed dino-duckling. He was swaying about as his eyes rolled around. He also had small birds, stars, and colored wisps of light circling his head.
“FINISH HIM!” a mysterious voice growled from no place in particular.
Poppy moved away as Pluie walked two steps backwards, four steps forward. Ducked down, jumped up, and got the area around them to go dark except for a spotlight that shined down between herself and Yosh.
“Oh, lover boy,” she teased while running a hand gently through her blonde hair and batting her eyes towards Yosh. This made the dino-duck stop wobbling about as he stood ogling towards Pluie.
“Kissy-kissy,” she said sweetly while puckering her beak and leaning towards Yosh.
Yosh’s eyes widened and started to sparkle like stars as red hearts bubbled out from all around him. He then closed his eyes and pursed his beak for a kiss.
WHAP!
The hearts around Yosh fell into puddles of red sugar water after he was slammed with extreme force atop his noggin. He then sprang back up like an accordion prior to regaining his original form.
Pluie struck a pose before bowing to ‘the Fourth Wall’.
Pluie Wins!” the voice proclaimed. “Flawless Victory! Toonality!”
Asher, Meezoo, Poppy, and Puddles watched with their jaws agape as the lighting around them returned to normal and Pluie put away her mallet.
“Any chance we can get a change before heading into school?” asked Asher as he tugged at his shirt’s collar. “I think I’m a little warmer than I should be for the start of a school day.”
“Well, Yosh,” Pluie asked her dino-duckling friend while putting a hand to the bottom of his bill. “Are you going to come clean before poor Asher cannot before school starts?”
Yosh rubbed a hand through one of the three, red-colored head spikes on his head.
“Umm,” he nervously chuckled. “Did I ever tell you I had a sister?”
Pluie reached a hand behind her back.
“No,” she replied while narrowing her eyes. “Go on.”
Yosh felt himself grow warmer as he considered his response.
“She just transferred to our school,” he stated. “And she’s with ‘The Training Never Ending’ toons of Sunnybrook’s High Street.”
Pluie backed away and thought for a moment.
“Scared of your big sister?” she asked.
“No,” Yosh sighed. “My little sister.”
Everyone gathered closely as Yosh began to share the story of his younger sister, Winry w. O’ducky.

Thank you, Leon. This will be the first mini series as it will introduce Yosh's sister, Winry to Toon Loon Elementary. Some other characters will appear, too. Though many are yet to be determined.

I'm glad you enjoyed Paru's animation. They did a wonderful job with taking an existing idea and making it an even better idea.
At some point, for anyone interested, I may share the original audio sequence for this animation inspired story. It was a tad different and Paru was the one who felt the outcome should be what it became. The mood is certainly different with the original, too. :)
