"Born in the Xer region of Razmiran to a family strictly devout in their worship of Razmir, a young Kade grew disillusioned and struck out on his own, taking to a life on the streets beneath notice of the deranged ruling theocracy, biding his time for a ticket out... until he one day ran afoul of a particularly cruel priest of Razmir, who robbed him of what little money he'd scraped together and severed his hand as punishment his transgressions.
Near-death from infection and blood loss, Kade ran across a benefactor in the form of Professor Iulian Mironescu, an eccentric inventor-adventurer who'd been conducting 'business' of his own in the region. Prof. Mironescu then took Kade under his wing as a sort of son/protégé, at the boy's insistence, teaching him a variety of skills and training him in the ways of the underhanded rogue to combat injustice like the kind that had left him on death's door.
This training wasn't the only gift the professor had to give, however, as some years prior he'd come into possession of a set of alien artifacts found in the Numerian wastelands and had been working on reverse-engineering them to little effect until, be it a stroke of luck or inspiration, something finally clicked and one of Prof. Mironescu's greatest inventions was born: A highly-advanced prosthetic arm granting enhanced abilities reminiscent of a spellcaster's repertoire. Kade jumped at the chance to have this device grafted to him to compensate for the loss of his natural hand and quickly became adept at using it, gradually discovering abilities and use-cases that not even the professor had accounted for.
Now the still-young Kade is once again striking out on his own, this time with the Professor's (reluctant) blessing, seeking to grow and learn on his own. Perhaps the Pathfinder Society can help him do just that?"
My fourth Pathfinder Society character (chosen for missions via random draw if more than the maximum number sign up), Kade! Eldritch Trickster rogue whose spell repertoire is reflavored into functions of an advanced prosthetic arm.

Yes! We still go on premade modules/missions, but our characters sort of have ongoing lore, development and banter between them.
passermine's Massaru, for instance, has gone through her Hellknight initiation
(also her character Azuru is gfs with my jackrabbit Ira)
