Perfect aerodynamics are a bit optional at this stage of Alurian technology. Smaller-sized civilian vessels are usually designed to be able to limp along at a glide for a short while, but under normal operation, the issue of gravity is handled via specialty devices... ever-so-creatively referred to as "lifters". Some ships disguise their Lifters better than others, but one can often spot at least a few by looking for circular indents or domes (This also holds true on my previous submission on Alurian ships).
That said, the Voidstars are an extremely specialized outlier in terms of Alurian ship design.
