The potion of retraction, also known as coil or ball potion, is a potion that forces the body to put stress on all the muscles at once, thus either forcing it into a ball, coil or fully stretched out. This potion, of course, wouldn't work on beings without muscles.
Generally, a single drop of it touching the body will only that part a quick jolt, similar to a small zap of electricity, but the whole body being touched by it, is quite violent, with the body straining itself on everything, it tends to hurt quite a lot.
The way this potion is made is by mixing compounds of bone, or just a bone, a hand flower, raking vine and put it in a vial filled with ocean blood, while in the dark. The wooden part is to cover up the middle of the potion, if its all exposed to light, it will just become diluted ocean blood. The potion doesn't work if it's not exposed to light, once exposed to light however, it must not be brought back into darkness or shade, because then it will just become pure blood.
The shape of the potion is so it doesn't get exposed at the middle, and so it's easy to cover the middle.
