It's a flying squirrel pokemon from the 5th generation. It's japanese name is Emonga and is an Electric/Flying type.

Zapdos is an Electric/Flying type >_> so it's not that weird... I mean, look at Chinchou and Lanturn, they're Electric/Water types.

And then there's Wooper and Quagsire, whom are Water/Ground. >.>

well, that's not really "Weird" per say. Yeah, normally ground is weak to water, but if you look at it from a natural stand point, the two mix really well to make mud. *shrugs*

And Grass cause 4x damage.

I'll admit, I hate both Wooper and Quagsire. Might be because of my very first encounter with one and tried to zap it to submission. Then I got pissed off XP

I had said this elsewhere but... all the Pikachu look alikes are electric type. I wonder if they do that on purpose, the creators.

Even looking at this picture, Emonga looks like Pachirisu but with some sort of hat and another tail. And of course Pachirisu who looks sort of like Pikachu/Pichu/Minun/Plusle... all electric. Again I really wonder if they make them all electric on purpose...

yeah, it's a trend they've kept up since the first games. there's a new electric rodent added into each new generation with the cute little cheeks and typically they're animals thought of as 'vermin'.
i've actually been waiting for emonga's arrival. i was starting to think they would break the chain with this game but was pleasantly surprised.

This is so adorable! XD <3 I love Emonga so far. Although i highly doubt Pachirisu is it's pre-evo, It's a cute stand alone pokemon as it is <3

i agree about pachi being a pre-evolution. as far as the rodent line has shown only the chus are an evolutionary family. i think it would be odd to make a squirrel [somewhat large] evolve into a flying squirrel [much, much smaller] anyway.
i do hope emonga is more useful in battle though. pachi was a disappointment there.
