This is actually the second design of some robotic bad guy I had originally drawn back in 1988. "Necrotron"...ha ha ha! Wow, could you get a cheesier name than that?
This guy was supposed to be one of the villains in a comic story I was trying to put together called "Bullett". It was sort of a science-fiction-meets-Sam-Spade kinda story. The main character was an older guy (whose name I can't remember, but the last name was "Bullett") who was a detective who had been in one too many shoot-outs. The guy was covered in scars. He had two accomplices: an alien lizard guy (whose name I also cannot recall at this moment) and a hot-looking robot chick named Rhoda. The scenery was sort of 1940's mixed with 2140's. Alas, nothing ever came of it.
This picture was not completed because I didn't like the way the colors were coming out. Had I had a set of Prismacolors at that time, the picture may have gotten completed. This is why I always say a traditional artist (as far as I'm concerned) must have more skill than a digital artist. There is NO "undo" button if you fuck something up in traditional media. I made lots of mistakes in the past while coloring or inking things. The last picture I messed up in such a fashion was several years ago. Perseverance pays off!

Yeah, I think I have a copy of my first comic, drawn in 1988 or so. It was bad. REAL bad.
But I thought posting this older stuff might let some folks know that, while ignorant douchebags may feel the need to critique their art because of "X" or "Y", no one ever starts out good. Everyone sucks at one point or another, and if each new picture you draw isn't challenging you in some way, you're not gonna grow as an artist!

Agreed. Oh...I sucked out loud. But I tried to emulate the "masters". Kirby, Romita Sr., Buckler Sr. When I started out in small-press fandom in the early 80s, I was something of a "hit". However, when I aspired to the pros, I usually received the "90% ready" form rejection letter. It wasn't until 1993 until I received my first pro published credit.
His name is ok for the time it was created, in the 80s everything was tron, Megatron, Voltron, Galvatron, Tron >XD lol
