Machinery. Not at all an accepted part of gnollish culture. Such mechanical devices and contraptions are viewed upon with extreme fear and apprehension, as it is often regarded as 'not normal' or natural, which isn't entirely wrong. However, curiosity is still a strong driving force, and when Wylx one day stumbled upon an abandoned mechanical device of gnomish origin out within the wilds of Qeynos Hills, he felt...oddly drawn to it. Where others feared and reviled such machinery, Wylx only drew upon curiosity and an odd sense of calling. After all, were the gnomes not also made by Brell, the creator-god of the gnolls as well? If the gnomes could figure out technology, surely Wylx could too! Both the gnomes and gnolls of Norrath share the same creator-god after all, so what's the difference? Tirelessly Wylx works on this strange machine, and judging by the overall shape and parts, the machine was once a whole and rather large mechanical spider. Wylx assured his clan that once the machine is up and running, it will be an effective fighting tool against the humans of Qeynos! Though the encouragement he preaches has fallen upon deaf ears and have earned him much scorn from the rest of his clan, especially that of Grala Stormtail, the clan's Arch Wizard. Magic is one thing, but machinery is another. In her eyes, this contraption is considered 'heretical' and she refuses to lend any manner of aid to Wylx, and has him toil alone to his possible and explosive death.
