Its more that the tablet they have is heavily restrictive in its qualities with a proprietary OS. It's made specifically for one job and so they have little need for a lot of flash and flare. It is as simple as possible to conserve computation and resources as much as possible. No need for Oli to have anymore than what is needed to record information.
I've been curious about this for a while. But it seems like the tablet is "keeping Oli on task." Even here it says "further reprimand," I assume related to how he missed several check-ins. He also requested certain items be available at extract. Is this a two-way communication? I'm really curious what home base thinks about everything going on, whether this was expected, and what they're actually replying to or telling him.
No, due to the fact that Outside connections cannot enter the dragonscape nor can inside connections leave the dragonscape (its a seperate reality, nothing can breach or leave it in regards to connections) I would be willing to say that both Olis requests and threats of reprimand would come after Extraction, Quarantine/Isolation, and review of the tablet to judge Olis efficacy in the gathering of information for SEAC colonial applications. The Tablet is programmed to both notify Oli of, and warn them about, Their requirements and the potential of reprimand and possible punishments upon the debriefing.
For Oli leaving a note its more of a "when you read this, can I get a picture upon debriefing?" even if it was said in a less than perfect way though they might not be thinking the clearest and speaking the most carefully considering the bizarre situation.
For the threat of reprimand its more the tablet is logging instances and failures to input logs that will then be made known to the FOS team when they review all the notes of the Tablet. So chances are once Oli might be extracted they would get a chewing out by the operational lead.

I thought about this when it first happened and Oli decided to continue towards extraction, but I'm wondering if they're even going to pick him up. If he's alone, they'd probably avoid the "monster." If he's with a group of locals, it'd be even worse.
Flashing his tablet, they might be willing to take that so it's not a total loss, but that's gonna be a judgement extraction personnel makes. But actually bringing Oli himself along? Well -- maybe if it's an automated vehicle and it just shows up and opens the door, then closes it after 5 minutes.
I feel like we're a long way off to seeing what happens there, though. Gotta get there in the first place to see what even happens.

Best case scenario, it's an automatic drone pilot. Second worst case scenario, is they see the group and just decide to wrangle them all up for study and dissection, absolute worst case scenario for Oli is they shoot her on site and take the corpse back for dissection, perhaps without even noticing the tablet.
Sometimes optimistic thoughts about Oli's situation cross my mind.... and sometimes they don't. It doesn't help that you've been purposefully vague about Oli's home civilization beyond the reality bending walls that separate the Dragonscape from the rest of the world. I don't know if they're pragmatists, utopians, or fascists, or if they'd bring a Drek back with them for study either by persuasion or by force.
