Have you tried using the Sharpen option to remove a bit of the blur? I'm sure the details will be even more visible with a good sharpen!

Never use sharpen, I find it doesn't look good.

Elements of the left figure and background are supposed to be blurred, as the left figure is directly in front of the camera in the foreground, while the right figure is focus.

I... I don't know, for certain! I know it's supposed to LOOK like blood, and that the river is corrupted by the demon gate, but I don't know for certain if it's "real" blood or not o_O
