Many years ago an independent filmmaker did a movie on drive in theatres. It showed in movie festivals, but its since fell off the radar. I have been hoping someone with the capital would put it on DVD, but nothing as of today.
its amazing they still exist, as their heyday was short lived and part of True Americana that came and went in a flash years and years ago, but there are still some out there. Its interesting.

Here, each one had a niche market: The K-42 ran sci-fi, as did the meadowlark Twin. The Terrace ran a ton of kung fu. Now only the Starlight Twin is left. BTW, this is the theater one of my first scripts, a backup off the SHANDA THE PANDA series, took place at. Based on something that happened to me there...
I love the drive-in. They are so much fun! Unfortuantly there are none close to me (about a 3 hour drive to either of the two closest ones) so I am building my own. Just going to put a projector outside and build a small screen and use some real drive-in speakers for the sound. Should be fun.
