Huh, there's no Species category for "Chimera." Weird. Anyway, this is a Work In Progress pic of a piece I'm working on for my local Veteran's Affairs Art competition. It's mostly done in this pic, but I still need to go back and re-sculpt some areas that I'm not satisfied with. I've lost count how many hours have been spent. Not pictured is the long feather-covered tail.
I'm calling it a "Pride Chimera" to show my appreciation and love for all my folks anywhere on the gender spectrum. The Chimera has elements of all kinds- avian, mammal, piscine, and is a beautiful creature in its own right. Love and beauty come in all forms, and I hope my sculpture shows that. (I cannot word today, oof.)
Wire and foil core, Sculpey base, Cosclay details (and there are SO MANY details). Hand-painted glass taxidermy eyes. This pic is going in Scraps once I get it finished.
