After a lot of agonizing, the title for book three will be "Crescendo." The title relates to multiple story arcs increasing in volume, but none more so than Renata's, again. Once I'd thought about it, I pictured Renata as Mickey Mouse in "The Band Concert" (with a similar acceleration into chaos) and this little nugget was born. For those who care about such things, it's one of the few times you'll ever see Renata wear shoes.

Previous working titles for the book were "Want, Need and Sacrifice" (which ended up not meaning anything, it's the title of a song from a band I used to be in), "The Insanity Prayer," (because insanity plays a lot into it; however, it sounded too much like a horror novel) and "Ballad of the Beta Male" (which sounds good but puts too much emphasis on an insignificant part of Wolfram's story).
