I recently acquired another bearded dragon from a guy who was a regular customer and had this lizard and a 10 foot Burmese Python. He's being sent to Okinawa at the end of July and needed to find new homes for the reptiles. I personally didn't want a constrictor thats 10 foot long, let alone a Burmese Python, since I have a rule of thumb, no constrictors over 6 feet. especially pythons.
But the Beardie I would assist in giving a new home. The lizard was rather mellow from the word Go, when I was visiting for an hour. But I also have BD at home and BD is twice the size of this guy. But I still have an empty cage that housed the late Chunk Butt.
As I was prepping the tank, BD immediately saw him and started the head bobbing at the new lizard, who in turn started head bobbing back (Both are males). Then this guy pulled the ole "Find the biggest guy in jail and beat the shit out of him to show the others not to mess with you!" action. He actually tried to dominate BD. Nipping him and head bobbing on top of him. BD would have none of that and tried to put the smaller lizard in place. Okay, they cannot tank share thats for sure.
I also have a smaller wire cage, sans a bottom , that I place a lizard in outside to allow solar soaking and grazing of greens. BD is rather used to it and also enjoys it. This guy warmed up and immediately wanted out, challenging me as you see here. But once back inside the apartment, chills out.
Also he has a hell of an appetite plus is the most regular lizard I've ever owned, Literally taking a sizable dump daily. I figure its going to take time to get him used to being handled regularly and going outside to bask. He's also roughly a year plus old where BD is 7 years old. I'm hoping he mellows as he ages.
I've been calling him Tough Monkey, Homeboy, but when he's outside and runs about, seriously spreads his ribs quite wide to appear bigger, so he looks like a spiked pancake. So I've been calling him Angry Pancake.

I'm so drunk, I can barely see. But it helps me get through another day! My stomach is filled with haggis and hurt. I've got to go puke in some hay!
I’VE FALLEN IN THE POOL!
