In some regions, kintas treat smaller folks like wild animals. In others, they treat them like equals. Where Loranna grew up, in the rural heart of the homeland, it's often somewhere in between. Years ago she persuaded her parents to let her take care of a couple of lost humans she found wandering the countryside. She builds them a sad little house on the family's land and checks in on them every day. Sure, it's a bit dehumanizing, but why not stay and be safe? All the big girl asks is they be her friends and help her fill out paperwork every once in a while. And life is good... but everyone grows up eventually.
