Was in a mood to draw something with a long tail, like, a really long tail, so I thought of Walt Kelly's Pogo and this popped out. It's not a trace of anything, for a wonder, and I'm surprised that it comes so near looking like I have at least seen Pogo before. This time I didn't forget the background layer either, although I did forget the tricks I was using to suggest the distant background of Pogofenokee Swamp without having to work hard.

Eyyy, a fellow Pogo-goer! I've got the first couple complete collection albums and some of the older books that chopped them up in weird ways.
Studying how Kelly drew these characters talking was one of the ways I first started learning how to draw proper 3D snoots and how they open.

Glad to make your acquaintance! Pogo's been an important piece of my comic-strip-fandom for decades and I'm embarrassed how long it took to get me just copying panels and learning how to actually draw figures who do things. Still don't really know, but at least I have a model for what I could be doing.
