This comic is my and
kattanaita's unfinished comic book project, Reign Under. We decided to post them because while the project will remain unfinished for the foreseeable future, we do have 11 finished pages, and 1 mostly finished page that are sitting around collecting dust. So we figured, why not!
Here we see the introduction of Darkstripe, little Graham's favourite superhero. I really like this page, in particular the comic cover of a (possibly) defeated Darkstripe. The mecha dragon guy was fun to draw, inspired by an old 90's anime called Teknoman that I used to really love. I believe the series was called Tekkaman Blade in Japan.
Feeling inspired by Darkstripe's latest ish, Graham decides to re-enact some scenes from the comic with the closest approximation he has to Mecha Dragon: a cheap robot bull. Undeterred, however, Graham grabs a sheet from his dresser to use as a cape, and fights the stand-in Mecha Dragon valiantly. But as the battle unfolds, the young lion is suddenly surprised by the devious dragon's secret laser guns, crying out "no!" as the wicked android gains the upper hand. Is this the end?!

Actually I had more of the death of Superman in my head when I was doing that cover, though the cover of THAT comic is just Superman's torn cape on a pole. And THAT iconic image I used in the last panel of Gaypardo #168. Was it Benevolence's cape?? Does THAT have any special meaning?!?!?
