First of (hopefully at least a few) journal response inspired pieces.
I tend to write fast. I get the idea, I write it out like that, and hit it with the big red rubber stamp of DONE. I guess I'm afraid of losing the idea or losing my train of thought. Dunno.
This one might seem rushed or unpolished... but I like it. It's also been a while since I've written anything longer than a paragraph or two >_< I'd like to think this is a good re-entrance back into writing again.

I like it! For most of it, everything feels slow and dragging. Each little item described follows exactly what I feel I would do in the same situation. Each room is looked over in such a slow fashion, each item mentioned as if your eyes are wandering around looking for something to do.
Then the phone rings and everything changes.
Instead of short mentions of each thing seen, the scene changes are blurs, barely noticed beyond the brief pauses for the next listen for the ringing phone.
It's exactly what would happen if one were looking forward to one certain moment.
