Catching fish with your bare hands would be just as tricky for Zaw-Afikh as it would be for humans I expect, rather smooth skin/scales especially when wet and not possessing sharp claws. I suppose Jet could try using his teeth but that could end badly with potentially half drowning himself. He'll probably need a lot of luck and patience to make a catch.
