Judge Death teleports to Gotham City, Batman manages to stop him briefly but ends up being transported to Mega City, where Judge Dredd puts him in prison. Only Judge Anderson, the Psychic Judge, manages to believe Batman, not so Dredd who wants to put him in prison. Meanwhile, Judge Death is reincarnated as a corpse and teams up with Scarecrow to spread fear and death in Batman's city.
There is a scene where Judge Death seeks to betray Scarecrow and Scarecrow sprays him with his fear-inducing chemical, revealing Judge Death's deepest terror: cute and lovable things.
