If you had to pick a flaw for Evaline Churchell you'd be hard pressed to stop at just one.

She's flirty to a fault and indiscriminate in who she flirts with. She's unreliable, often getting distracted from tasks or her own syllabus. And she's a gossip who loves sharing stories about mishaps and anecdotes about hijinxes.

But her biggest flaw is that she's unaware of how she comes off to others.

Since she's insecure about her figure compared to much of the rest of other faculty, she always dresses feminine. Or to emphasize her body even if its borderline inappropriate. She flirts because she likes the positive reactions. She's third in the school in revealing wardrobe malfunctions and much less embarrassed about it than the record holder Virginia.

Evaline teaches history but would much rather be teaching art. She started at the school as a substitute for when Miss Stephanie March was out on maternity and was moved over to the history class. She always winds up spending much more time on art history related topics than her syllabus allows for.

She doesn't realize that she gossips too much because her best friend guidance counselor Ms Cumberland encourages her to share interesting and incriminating stories whenever they eat lunch together. While Evaline happily chats away, she's inadvertently providing material for Ms Cumberland's blackmail files, even on herself.

No, Evaline doesn't really realize how she comes off to other people but has a kind heart to her. While fellow teacher Virginia Bubo sees Evaline as flighty, because she is flighty, Evaline sees Virginia as her disaster prone other best friend and keeps extra clothes around for whenever Virginia is having one of her more embarrassing days.
