I did this art on some old papyrus I had sit upon for years waiting to do something Egyptian on it... The only regret I got on this is that I had no gold-leaf to accent it. Anubis and Bast HAD do be in this, so I made it into an art studio theme, with the god of creation KHNUM watching the lesson ever intently.

Why would she do that? I have always entertained the idea of some netherworldly god-fueled sexual frustration between these two, culminating in heretic episodes of debauchery and wild aband.......

Actually daughter, but yes, a female jackal or, as I say, jackalette.
A character that I'd created when I was in the Dallas Brawl: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1530035/ .

If I had to put an explanation to it, I'd say the whole composition was intended to be off the norm... In fact, if I had done this in ancient Egyptian times, I'd be condemned to the crocs for heresy (...along with other crimes, such as defacing the gods with human genitalia, and the notion of Greek women made better models...)
I'm not so sure of that. For one thing, the Greeks eventually conquered Egypt. So they had the last laugh, so to speak.
And the Egyptian gods were, in fact, quite a randy bunch, as were some of their followers. Even the Romans regarded Egyptian religious beliefs and practices as far too decadent -- the Romans! So while drawing genitalia on the gods might not have been acceptable on a temple wall or a tomb relief, I'm pretty sure there were many papyri that circulated in ancient times depicting, in effect, "Gods Gone Wild."
And, again, my compliments on your drawing, especially of Bast. I'm sure the goddess herself would be pleased at this flattering rendition. (But next time be sure to use the gold leaf, or Ammut will chow down on your immortal soul. :) )

I'm sure Ammut would consider me a virtual buffet...
I wonder what an ancient Egyptian take on "VOOTIE" or "Rowrbrazzle" would look like... or even a "furry gathering" at a local temple would generate?
I'm sure the next time I do Bast, she'll think very differently of my visions, i.e. "...I didn't know I was THAT deep!!!"
