I'm thinking about doing badge commissions, too. This one was like a practice to see how much effort it takes, how it looks, etc.
So, do you guys think this makes a good badge? Looks good enough with colored pencil? or should I try marker (though that's harder for me.) The scanner of course never makes it as good as it looked on paper, but if you have any colored pencil tips, that would be great! I love using them but I feel I'm not daring enough with the shading and colors.
Lettering is also hard >_>
But yeah, tell me what you guys think! I'm not really sure what price I would do for these either (3x4 notecard paper). I was thinking maybe 30 dollars for this style, and maybe as low as 25 if I can do it in a more cartoony style.
ug I hate the way I do "anthro" style though, not very refined or good. I feel like people would be ripped off if they got it that way D:
Edit: Thinking about $15 for my style and like, $20 for "anthro" style. Busts I guess. I'm not sure about full body! Maybe I'd do full body my/cartoon style or something.

yeah, I tried not to make them too anime, but I like drawing thick "eyelashes" on top that make it end up like that XD And I stuck a little close to the ref.
But yeah thats what I thought! Doing this style is just so...unremarkable. I also might just do a cartoony style because otherwise I'll feel like I'm being overworked for such cheap prices that badges go for! >_>

As mentioned 20-25 would not be unusual, I received a 20$ badge (face only) at con and although impressed with the artist other works, my badge came out rather blaise, They offered to redo it but I just was so disappointed and the amount of time it took as so slow I let them do a simple fix and be done.
I think the biggest indicator to consider is it worth the time and effort to do the badge. If badges come easily then 15 is fine but if they take time, 20 seems better. Badges tend to be rather personal to, so I think folks tend to be a lot pickier about them, but I could be wrong.
Yes your toony style would also be better, but I see elements of it even in this, so go for this style too if only to add to your experience!
