Yeah, as if Gilt wasn’t complicated enough… Anyway! This adopt probably was one of the most tough in making; from sketch to coloring. The main fun fact about it is that I actually wanted to delete it when the colouring was halfway done. The main concept of creating a floral dragon with flowers and leaves all over failed as soon as I realized how acidic and unnatural the green palette looked on her no matter which tones I tried to pick. The irony is strong in the last sentence but it is what it is. The sketch also looked off and didn’t fit the canvas at all (there was too much empty space). With all those critical difficulties which could possibly mean cancelling of the project I decided to start the whole colouring from scratch. But it just didn’t want to work out. Just imagine picking a few colours for more than an hour. Holy shit. I can’t believe I had enough patience to finally feel content with the main colouring. It was so hard that adding all those markings and floral stuff felt like a cakewalk. Man I’m so happy I’ve managed to finish this so nicely and even saving the main floral concept that it’s become one of my most favorite designs this season
