Gustave Verbeek did it again, with one of his weird animal-nonanimal hybrids in Terrors of the Tiny Tads. In the installment for the 11th of January, 1914, and reprinted on GoComics recently, the tads find a Friccaseal, and the pose and the head were just so darling I had to draw them, so here they are.

You can see the original in panel four at https://www.gocomics.com/upside-dow.....eek/2021/07/19 and, cw: the tads go hunting animals. The exact fate of the Friccaseal is ambiguous but I'm not expecting good things because the series gets surprisingly mean about these wondrous creatures.
