"Things just got weird, everyone."

Ty backed away from his laptop.

"Yeah, but do we have any other choice? Even if we got every team onto ours, we wouldn't stand a chance against them."

Rena presented an idea a minute after this was said.

"Maybe if we shoot Austen, we can still win!"

On the screen, another two figures appeared, which seemed to be red. The red team had a raccoon and a human on it. They both approached Austen and shot at him, but it seemed to be ineffective. All it did was cover a small patch of him, but he turned purple again shortly afterward. Jax noticed this and shot the red team down fast. He was able to aim with incredible precision and speed, which made the blue team a bit nervous. He spoke with the red team a bit, but since there was no audio on the footage, the blue team didn't know what they were saying. It took a while before anybody spoke again. Lance was the one to break the silence.

"Is there really anything else we can do? I mean, this seems like it might be the only way to win."

Kendra spoke up.

"Uh, how badly do we want to win this again?"

"Pretty badly."

Ty decided to say something as well.

"Well then, who are we going to... you know, uh..."

Lance started speaking loudly but started to quiet down a bit towards the end.

"I'll do it! I'll be the one who uh, fattens up. I wouldn't be that much of a loss to the team since I can't run around a lot. I am pretty bad at this sort of thing."

Kendra responded quickly.

"Don't say that! Everyone here is valuable! Although, I guess it would be mean to make you do so much when you don't want to."

Rena found their voice.

"So, that settles it? What do we do now?"

Ty was the one to respond.

"We split up and search for stuff. The announcer guy said we could use whatever we find, right? That means there are things we can find. How else would Austen have gotten so big that fast? We should move Lance to another room that's bigger, so we don't destroy this one. Rena, do you want to do that?"

"Sure."

"And how about Kendra and I start searching for things in the meantime."

"Wait, how can we know where they moved to?"

"Try leaving a paint trail. Space it out though, so we don't have anyone finding you guys."

"Got it."

"Alright then, let's go!"

Ty ran through the halls, making sure to track where he was going with a few paintballs. So far, there were only hallways as far as he could see. Eventually, he came across a room which smelled sweet, so he stopped there. It was a white room that had a few vials of bright yellow liquid on a pedestal. He took all of them and put them in his pockets. He thought to himself about how it was great to have pajamas with pockets.

He started making his way back to the computer room, but stopped once he saw something more bright purple than the rest of the place. It was the purple team, most likely. He saw a purple splat appear next to him, then another one appeared. He ran before the next one did. He started running from the purple team as fast as he could until eventually, Ty reached the room he wanted. He hid behind one of the cubicles. Ty heard footsteps come towards him. He heard a raspy voice come from the room's entrance.

"I swear, they had to have come through here. Did you see them Simone?"

The voice sounded masculine to Ty. The one named Simone seemed to respond with a more calm and silvery voice, which surprised Ty since the situation was so tense.

"I did see somebody, but I don't know if they went in here."

They paused for a moment.

"What is this place?

"I think it's some sort of computer lab."

"Wait, this computer is open. I think we can find something with this."

Ty decided to shoot one of them once he heard footsteps come towards his laptop. He hit one.

"Niles!"

Ty shot Niles before they could fully turn around. He now could look at the team he just shot. There was a raccoon and a human. The human looked to be around the age of fourteen, was quite stout, and had brown eyes. The raccoon was slightly taller and thinner than the human, with hazel eyes, and a feminine appearance. The raccoon said something to the human.

"I guess we're on their team now."

They turned to Ty.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Ty."

"I'm Simone, and this is Niles. We were originally on the red team, but we got put on the purple team pretty fast. Now that I think about it, we really aren't the best team, aren't we."

Niles responded.

"I don't think so. Have you lost to two teams, Ty?"

"No, I'm actually still on the team I started with. I'm glad you're on our team though, we needed more people to beat the team you were on!"

Niles spoke up again.

"Yeah, the Purple team is really doing something weird. I don't know how we could though since they seem to be really avid to win this. There's this rhino named Jax on their team who is really good at this sort of thing. He actually took us down similar to the way you did."

"I saw that. This room let me see through some cameras around the place. I found my laptop in here and watched that whole thing between you guys."

"Simone, I think maybe yours is in here too!"

Simone looked around the room.

"It is here!"

She flipped through a few cameras until she found something.

"I think I can see something we can use. It looks like the stuff we used for Austen!"

Ty spoke.

"Great! You two can go find that, and just follow the blue paint trail so you can come back to where we need it. I'm going there now."

"Ok. What did you find?"

"Just this yellow stuff."

"Cool!"

"Alright, let's go!"

Ty eventually made it to the room where Lance was. Kendra was there too, with some strange sandwiches which smelled like berries.
Ty explained what had happened to the rest of the team, which made Kendra respond.

"Great! Let's give it to Lance and see what happens."

Lance started to drink from one of the vials but quickly spat it out.

"Gross! Why'd you spit it out?"

"It's really sweet. Like, REALLY, really sweet. Just about sickeningly sweet actually. It's like it's just a huge amount of sugar put into here! Actually, I can believe it is! How would you fit so much sugar into here though? I don't know where the yellow comes from, but I think it may be pure yellow dye! I think that if I drank this, I might be sick."

"So there's stuff that can reverse progress as well? That's just cruel! So far, we only have these sandwiches. We should probably use some now, and some later so we don't fill you up too fast."

"So what do I do with the rest of the yellow stuff?"

"Just throw it away somewhere, I don't care."

"Ok."

Ty made it to the computer room again and found a trashcan in the corner. As he was about to throw it away, he decided to take one last look at the substance. A thought passed through his mind.

"I wonder how sweet this stuff actually is?"

He decided to try a sip from an unopened vial. It tasted very sweet, but not so sickening that he spat it out. It wasn't too bad. He drank the whole vial, and then drank the next vial that wasn't opened. He threw away the vial Lance drank from and started to leave the room. All of a sudden, everything seemed to start to slow down around him, and the colors looked brighter than before. He heard a song play on the speakers. It was the song he had played earlier. It was HYPE, one of his favorite songs by Tokyo Machine. His skin was no longer blue, it was now the same bright yellow as the liquid he had just drunk. He suddenly felt very hot, but then quickly cooled down. He felt himself touching the sides of his head. There were headphones on it. Every screen went black, and they started flashing with the word "HYPER". Ty felt the sudden need to run, fast. He ran very fast down the hallways as soon as the beeps and boops at the beginning ended.

"Where's Ty? He should be back by now."

Simone said this in their calm voice, which wasn't shaken until she started to hear a song play over all the surrounding speakers.

"What was that? Wait, it sounds like that song that played during music share yesterday. What is it called though?"

"It's called HYPE. That's the song Ty chose. Why would it be playing now?"

A high-pitched voice came from the hallways in perfect time to the music. It sounded too real to come from the speakers though.

"HYPER!"

Rena looked out the doorframe to find a completely yellow humanoid running fast towards her. They seemed to be the thing that spoke a bit ago. They had no eyes but did have the parts around them which gave them expressions. It had no clothes, but its body seemed to be smooth, almost like it was from a cartoon of some sort. They were wearing wireless headphones which seemed to be part of their body since there was no separation between the head and the headphones. They had no hair, but it didn't look unnatural to her. They did have a mouth though, and a nose, human hands as well. The feet seemed to be connected at the front, making it look like they belonged to a mannequin.

She realized she was staring at it and trying to process its appearance for so long that it ran into her. Or through her, since it seemed to not collide physically with her. When it passed through her, she felt an extreme amount of heat coming from the inside. She expected to feel immense pain but felt euphoria come over her instead. She felt the greatest she ever had in her life, but didn't know why. When Rena turned around to see where the thing was going, they witnessed it run through a wall. She quickly went back into the room and told everyone else what she saw. Lance stopped eating their sandwich during this, but resumed shortly afterward. Kendra came to a quick conclusion.

"I think that might be Ty."

"What? How could that possibly be Ty? Please explain."

"Well, Ty did say they could be hyperactive if they didn't take their pill."

"Ty took their pill today though, I saw him do it."

"He said he gets hyper if he eats something yellow, and sugar shouldn't have that weird opposite effect on him. Maybe he drank from the vials!"

"That might be it! What do we do now?"

"I don't know. Should we stop him?"

All of a sudden, Ty came into the room as the yellow thing, but left so fast that nobody could say anything to him. He had found a few more items and put them on the floor. Vials of every color of the rainbow except yellow were put on the floor, as well as a pie and some more mysterious sandwiches.

"Nope! This is great! He can find stuff at twice the speed we could before! Alright Lance, drink up!"

Lance drank one of the red vials first, which immediately made him feel heavier than usual. It tasted like raspberries. All of a sudden, he started to expand in all directions. To Lance, it looked like a navy blue mass was moving away from him. To everyone else, it looked like there was a navy blue mass expanding towards them. The expansion ended once Lance was unable to stand due to his newfound blue girth.

He decided he needed a moment to take himself in, but then realized he would need much more than that. He was somewhat chubby before, but this was a far step ahead from that. He found his arms were still able to be used, so he used them to take in what he thought he saw. His belly, which was noticeable before, had turned into a shapeless form that came from the front of him. As he felt around the furry mass, he squeezed it out of curiosity. His arms were able to sink deep into it before he felt any sort of tension. He tried to lift it, but found it too heavy to do so. All he could do was pick some of it up and let it drop back onto the rest of himself, which made it form back into the formless shape. Now he knew how Austen felt in the morning. He took a few more moments to explore who he was now, blushing a bit as he realized he had expanded backward as well. What he expected from himself were shock and denial, but he only felt happiness. Lance felt a sort of excitement from his newfound self, and couldn't stop thinking about why this is as he continued to feel all of his glorious new self. He only stopped when he heard a harsh call back to reality.

"You done yet?"

Lance had been lost in his thoughts, but had finally come back to his other four senses once he heard this. It gave him the shock he had expected, but only for a brief moment. There was no embarrassment from what he just did. He liked, no, loved the way he was now! He realized this was only the beginning though, as there were plenty more vials to go.

"Alright, I'm ready for the next one!"

HYPER continued to run, having no worries as he listened to a song he loved over his headphones. Nothing could slow him down, not even walls. It all felt so amazing, like the energy he only felt when he didn't take his pill was multiplied infinitely! He knew HYPE was still playing over the speakers, but he didn't care about it. Even as the lights tried to sync with the music, he didn't worry about it. He was having a good time, and nothing would stop that. He could barely think though, so he decided to stop thinking. It did a lot to help him focus on running, up until he felt himself slowing down.

His body changed back to navy blue, he felt the headphones leave and were replaced with messy blue hair, and his clothes were back. As the song was ending, he felt himself not wanting this to stop. He took another vial of the yellow "Hyper Juice" and drank it. He heard the music loop, and the lights continued with their pattern. He heard the song he was listening to come back on, and the sudden urge to run. He felt the same euphoria as before, and loved each second of it. He continued running, but noticed something was different this time.

He felt like he was able to do something else, something new, like there was a switch he could flip in his mind. He tried it, and felt the euphoria leave his body and the song close off early. He tried it again, and quickly felt it come back, with his skin turning yellow again.

"Nice!"

And off he ran again, finding a few things along the way. He came across a thought which made him change directions.

"I wonder how the rest of the team is doing, I should check on them. Hey, I can think straight now!"

As HYPER ran back to his teammates, he noticed something which made him stop and switch back to Ty. A massive and furry blob was extending all the way to the computer lab. It was navy blue.

"Is- Is that- Lance?"

He was not one to stutter in the past, but it wasn't the inappropriate reaction to the massive bear in front of him. So many folds were present on whatever part of Lance this was. He changed back to HYPER and ran up the surface. He managed to not let the layer cake and vials splatter as he did this, which impressed him. He eventually found his way to Lance's head, which was far away from where he was. He had to switch back to Ty during this, to make sure he didn't drop the cake while balancing on this unsteady surface. With some difficulty, Lance was able to tell Ty about what had happened and where everyone else was.

"So, as you can see, the stuff you gave me worked. I think we can beat Austen! Oh, the others? They went to find some more stuff. I was honestly just sleeping here until you came along. Oh, and the others wanted to know, were you the one who was running through the halls as a yellow person? Yes? Well then, that's surprising. I guess I owe Kendra five bucks. Too bad she forgot I can't give it to her since we can't see each other again after this. Wait, is that a cake?"

"Yes. I found it while I was running around. It's 6 layers."

"How did you carry that here?"

"I have no idea."

"Maybe you should check if you lost something with all your running."

Ty inspected the cake. It had 6 layers when he picked it up and had 6 layers now. Each layer decreased in size as the cake increased in height. Each layer also had frosting every color of the rainbow in ascending order, which made Ty realize what this cake probably was.

"I think this cake has all the serums mixed into each layer, which is why each one is a different color. That might mean this is more powerful than every single one of the vials you had before!"

"Well, I guess there's only one way to find out!"

"Uh, I don't have a cake knife on me."

"Oh who cares! Just give me each layer whole!"

Ty was a bit startled about the way Lance was acting, he never had expected such...energy like this from them. Maybe it was because of him running on top of Lance? No, he ran on top of them, not through him.

"What are you waiting for?!"

"Alright, let's start with the purple one."

Ty rested the cake atop Lance's wobbly form and took off the top layer. He brought the cake over to Lance's mouth and pulled apart some of the pieces so they fit. Once the whole top layer was eaten, a rumbling emerged from the bear belly below him. Ty quickly secured the cake and felt the lard push him further away from Lance's head. It took about ten seconds for the expansion to stop, but it made its mark. Ty walked for two minutes until he got back to the rings of fat around the bear's flabby face.

"That felt great! Hey, I feel some guys moving at me from behind, the team must be coming back."

"OH MY GOD WE ALMOST DIED!"

"Sorry about that Kendra, but look who's here!"

"Oh, you're back! You must have found something really good, we just passed Austen by a longshot with that boost you got us. Anyways, we got six other teams! Turns out that we make a pretty great team!"

"Yeah-"

Ty had barely any time to speak before the speakers played another announcement.

"Alright everyone, time is almost up! You only have 5 minutes left! Better get some fast fat if you know what I mean! I can't believe it took so long for most of you guys to understand the rules! Oh, and don't forget, the winning team gets to go home to their own world, while the others will stay!"

Ty realized something.

"You guys, if we don't get everyone on our team, they don't get to go home. We have to save everyone!"

Rena responded

"You're right! But how are we going to do that? We can't move that fast! Not unless you still have some of that yellow stuff."

"Actually..."

Ty turned into HYPER faster than he ever had before. He spoke with a high-pitched and energetic voice which sounded exactly like it came from the song over the speakers. What he said was so fast that most couldn't understand.

"You guys give Lance the rest of the cake! I'm going to get everyone else!"

In perfect time to the beep boops at the beginning of HYPE, HYPER ran off.

"Whoa! He can do that?"

Kendra turned to Lance.

"Alright, let's get you eating! Just say something if you start choking."

Lance had a slightly worried expression on their face. Rena decided to comfort them.

"Don't worry, she's only joking."

HYPER ran through the halls again, listening to a song that perfectly represented the situation, Final Boss. HYPER first had to skip ahead by fifteen seconds so they had a timer.

They had to switch between Ty and HYPER rapidly to use the paintball gun since HYPER disrupts all technology around him. Eventually, they found a team, the brown team. HYPER was used to build up some momentum, and then Ty slid along a tiled floor. After realizing he could have ended up sliding along carpet instead, Ty felt an instance of shock and relief.

"One down, thirteen more to go!"

One by one, HYPER and Ty managed to take down each team by running behind them, going up the wall around them, sliding along the floor, and even getting up close. They both counted down how many teams they had left to keep track of who they had left.

"THREE MORE!"

"Two."

"ONE!"

HYPER approached two colored blobs, Lance and Austen were so huge, they both touched each other from separate ends of the arena!

"HOW DO I GET AUSTEN?"

The announcer spoke again over the speakers, this time with even more energy.

"30 seconds left! What's this? Only two teams remain?! Wow! Looks like Navy Blue might win this one, but what's this!? Purple found an ultracake! This is gonna be a close one!"

By this time, HYPER was running up to Austen's head. He found Jax was by the head about to feed Austen the ultracake. Before Jax could attack, Ty slid along the jiggly surface of Austen and shot him.

"Damn it!"

Ty knew he had fifteen seconds left in the song, so he tried to shoot as much of Austen as he could. It didn't work. Ty was hearing the last eight seconds of the song when he had an idea.

HYPER quickly bounced on Austen and was propelled upwards just enough to give some air time. Ty waited until the neck rolls were not obstructing him before frantically shooting at Austen.

Austen started to turn Navy Blue from his head to wherever his feet were.

He didn't even know the announcer guy had been counting down for the last seconds until he heard "Two! One! Time's up! Alright everyone, let's see how you did! Wow, looks like this is a first! Everyone is on the blue team, which means everyone wins! I should probably mention that nobody would have been stuck here after this. Yeah, I know this may make you mad, but it was only to make you more competitive! It sure worked like a charm! Anyways, the folks that have been on the blue team since the beginning were the big bear Lance, and the hyper human Ty! You will receive your prizes and be slimmed back down momentarily."

Ty didn't know when it happened, but he knew he wasn't in Mass Tag anymore. He was on his racecar bed in the bedrooms. Everyone seemed to be waking up in confusion and excitement around him. He looked at his hands, they were back to the tan color they were supposed to be. He heard his friends talking.

"Awww, I was liking my new self."

"YEAH! WE DID IT! I mean, we didn't have to send Ty over to get everyone else since they would have gone home anyways but WE STILL DID IT!"

"That was great! I didn't know you could move your hands so fast Niles!"

"I didn't think you knew how to fit more food down somebody's throat without them choking. We are such a great team Simone!"

"I think everyone did great! I still feel a bit of that energy from Ty going through me."

Ty smiled at everyone getting along so well. He then heard a conversation between Austen and Jax. Both were sitting on their own beds side by side.

"Welp, we tried. You did good Jax."

"You did good too! You were the one who found out what the rules meant."

"Thanks. You know, I kind of liked being more of a blobby elephant than I already am."

"Come on now, I know you loved it!"

Austen hesitated before responding.

"Alright, I loved it. I just don't know why. I always felt that being bigger was something I wanted to be, I just haven't tried it until now. I never said anything to anyone about it, but I feel good now that I have.

"You know, I really enjoyed being able to help you grow. I always had a thing for bigger guys, and I felt so happy when I had the chance to help somebody else get bigger. Every pound looked great on you."

"Oh, wow. I just wish I could see you again after this. This was the best day of my life."

"Yeah, but all good things have to come to an end eventually."

They sat in silence for a while. For both of them, the world seemed to fade into black. Eventually, all that existed was the two of them and their beds. The only thing they heard through the silence was the pounding of their hearts, they only felt the warmth from each other. Both could only think about how they wouldn't see each other after this. Austen thought about the way Jax was tough most of the time and how he was opening up right now for him. That could only mean one thing, right? Jax could only think about his regrets. Did he say too much? He must have. He never opened up to anybody like that before, and that cost him greatly. In all his thoughts, he was forgetting Austen had done the same for him.

Austen felt the warmth from Jax starting to slowly fade away. Their heartbeat was getting slower and quieter. If he didn't do something now, he would lose Jax! As the distance between them started feeling like it was getting larger, Austen went towards Jax. Never had he felt something like this before. It wasn't just love, it was also the sheer determination to save somebody. He could feel more energy than he had ever felt before going through him. It drove him towards a single action Even as he was about to do it, he still had to get rid of some doubts. If he did this, there was no going back. Maybe Jax wasn't ready. It could make things worse than they were about to become if he didn't. That last thought was what pushed him the last bit of distance he needed. All the energy he had just felt was put into this moment.

As he felt his lips make contact with Jax's, he could feel the warmth come back, much stronger this time! Their heartbeats were in perfect time with each other, the rhythm speeding up and the sound intensifying. It felt like the void around them was filled with emotion. Even through all this, they were not distracted. Even if the world was gone, all they needed was each other.

It was at this point that Ty noticed something on his bed. It was a strange device that looked like a small silver ball with lines going around it and a green button at the top. Almost immediately after Ty picked it up, the announcer guy spoke again.

"Congrats to Ty and Lance who won the special prize! On your beds, you will find a device that allows you to go between worlds! Just simply press the green button and throw it on the ground! It will create a portal that takes you to a space between all worlds where you can choose where you want to go! It also allows for cross-dimensional calling if you press the button twice. Have fun, and please use it responsibly!"

Ty ran up to Jax and Austen. They were sharing what they thought would be their final moments together in a kiss. Ty waited until they were done before saying something.

"Maybe this doesn't have to be your final moments together."

Jax turned to Ty and spoke in an angry but quiet voice.

"You were listening?!"

Austen stepped in, still feeling euphoria.

"Don't worry, it's fine. He was bound to know at one point. Besides, we shouldn't have to hide who we are. Especially after everything that happened just now."

Jax paused a bit before answering this.

"You're right."

Austen turned back to Ty.

"So, what was it you were talking about?"

Ty showed them the orb.

"This is a way to go between worlds and call each other from our own worlds! I can bring you both to each other!"

Austen and Jax looked at each other again. Austen responded first.

"Well then, I guess it's only goodbye for now!"

"Yeah, I guess."

"Hey, we don't have to leave yet! Want to go get some ice cream?"

"Sure!"

With that, Austen and Jax left. Immediately afterward, Kendra came over to Ty.

"Hey! Don't just sit here by yourself! Let's see how your new thing works!"

Ty tried to use the dimensional teleporter, but it didn't work when he pressed the button and threw it on the floor. The announcer guy spoke again.

"Ah, it seems one of you tried to use your new portal maker! Don't. At least, not here. You can use it once you get back to your world though! You can add contacts to it for now, but no portals! Everyone will be sent back once they all go to sleep."

"Oh. I'll just show you once I get back home."

Ty started to go away from Kendra.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?"

"To go get everyones' number."

"At least start with mine!"

"That's all of them! How much time do we have?"

"Five minutes."

"What?!"

"How long did you expect getting contacts to take?"

"Less than six hours!"

"We did end up doing everything there was to do as we were getting all the contacts. Also, you owe me five bucks for DDR."

"I told you that I wasn't in on the bet! I really suck at that game. Plus, we probably have different currencies."

"I just want it to prove to people that I have been to another dimension!"

"Alright, fine!"

Ty and Kendra went over to the bedroom. As Ty parked his car, he could already hear Kendra snoring. She didn't snore that loud, but it was snoring nonetheless. All he had to do was close his eyes, and this whole adventure would be over. Actually, no. It had only just begun. So much more was in store now that he could go between worlds whenever he wanted! He just wondered how he was going to charge this thing. That was a problem for tomorrow though, since he had already done enough for today. A new power, new friends, and new adventures would all come to him, just as soon as he closed his eyes. And so, he closed his eyes. As he did, he felt a sensation of floating come to him. He ignored it though, he was already asleep.

Ty woke up in bed.

They had fallen into a dreamless sleep, but waken up into what seemed to be a dream. He knew this, which also made him realize he was now dreaming lucidly and could do whatever he wanted!

The first thing they did was try to fly by jumping off their bed.
Once they hit the ground, they knew they were awake since they felt pain and couldn't fly. With a small groan from pain and disappointment, they looked at the room around them.

It felt like home, to say the least. His bed was queen-sized with a red blanket and brown sheets. Some plushies were scattered across the bed. The room itself had a soft dark brown and light brown carpet. There was a sliding closet door on the wall farthest from him. It was a big mirror. Two small nightstands made of wood with three drawers each were on both sides of the bed. The walls were an even lighter brown than the floor. A white bookshelf was next to the closet, and a black and white dresser with drawers that slid outwards was on the left side of the room a bit away from the closed white door that led to the jack-and-jill style bathroom. A few plushies were on the floor.

Ty got back onto the bed and hugged a large Chewbacca squishmallow plush.

"It's good to be home."

Ty saw the orb on his left nightstand. He pressed the green button and put it on the floor. It made a portal that led to a black area. A lime green outlined the portal. Ty stepped through, just to test it out. As soon as he did, the portal closed.

Here it is! A couple months in the making of the second and final part of Mass Tag! I never thought I would try any sort of romance, but I think I handled it well. Anyways, that was pretty exciting! I really hope all who read this enjoyed it, and I also hope anyone reading this has a great day!
