Here we go, Chapter 7.
Mark makes his way to zootopia. Personally, though i do not remember if they show this, most likely not, considering the way their hands are. I would expect them to develop a system based on 'base 8' so instead of 0-9 it would be 0-7. Which for a clock would work out like this.
Each day is three segments long. This is the first digit on the left.
Each segment is eight hours long. This is the second digit.
Each minute is 74 minutes long. remember in base 8 it goes 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-20 and so on. These two digits are the third set.
Each minute is 74 seconds long following the same format as the minutes.
I haven't worked out a calendar, but a conversion of 2019 into base 8 puts their year into the 3xxx.
We get some light exposition in the form of shock jocks. A little more background on Mark too. Not to mention some social views of the camalfornia / Zootopia region. So yes the complaints about the 'new' system is a plot point. Dismissing of old systems, just because their old, I'm not going to point out the origin here nor ask people to guess. If you know, then you're well read and head and shoulders better learned than anyone in the united states as our education system actively avoids talking about 'that'.
Will mark make it better or worse? Not going to tell.
Also, yea i am keeping the higher pitched voices as canon. As much as i like nick to sound like deadpool(or if your in japan nick was dio! jojo pose ). This makes more sense to me. Also as much as the climate walls have become magic in the fandom, i'm keeping them as realistic as possible. thus not all of the giant city is kept under their influence.
Also the tablet seems op, maybe it kinda is considering it's 80 years more advanced, but eh.
One more chapter after this with Mark and then we're back to Usako. The crash site, her learning about the farm and ranch, etc.
