Brittany was fuming mad as she stomped her way out the school towards her truck. “Fuckin’ Jessie…” She grumbled under her breath, still angry that she’d let the feline talk her into signing up for the cheer squad. As she slid the key into the truck’s lock someone suddenly started signing.
"Hey girl, what's your name girl? I've been lookin' at you and every guy here's doin' the same girl, it'd be a shame girl if I let you just walk on by!"
At first Brittany froze, fighting hard to keep the smile off her muzzle she slowly turned to face whomever was serenading her to see Nathan walking from the other side of the truck. The two huskies had never spoken before... but that hadn’t stopped Brittany from developing quite a serious crush on the black and white canine. "Are you really singing Billy Currington to me?" She asked, trying to sound incredulous, but the husky was having to work unusually hard to keep a straight face; Brittany's 'resting bitch' face was renowned around her high school.
Nathan shrugged and leaned against the fender of the redhead’s truck while she reached back to untie her ponytail, shaking her long mane of red hair fly free. "I guess I assumed the girl who drove a '79 Bronco with KM3s was a country music fan."
"I am." Brittany said, eying Nathan leaning against the fender of her precious truck. She debated asking him to stop from leaning against it's freshly waxed paint, but decided not to come off too crazy. At least... not yet. "But you should have stuck with the oldies. Maybe Check Yes or No?"
"Is that your way of asking to kiss me on the school bus? 'Cus if we hurry we'd probably catch it." Nathan smiled back. Usually Nathan wouldn’t have been this confident approaching a pretty girl, one might not think it given he stood over nine feet tall but Nathan sometimes suffered approaching new people... he hated being the center of attention.
“If you’re asking me out on a date I hate to tell you this, but I’m already taken.”
“Oh trust me I’m well aware… It was Jessie that put me up to this. She told me to make you pick between Friday or Sunday night, because that’s when she’s free.”
This time Brittany didn’t just smile, she laughed out loud while shaking her head. {i]You know what… fuck it.[/i] She thought to herself with a shrug of her shoulders. If Jessie was going to make these types of moves, what was stopping her from doing the same? She unlocked the door of the Bronco and climbed behind the driver’s seat. “Actually my schedule suddenly freed up this afternoon, I just quit the cheerleading squad so you can come with me and get a little Mud on the Tires”
“Aw, that’s a shame. I was looking forward to you cheering me on.” Nathan said, clicking his tongue as he walked over to the passenger door of her truck and climbing up inside.
“Well if that’s the case... the good news is I already bought the outfit, so nothing is stopping me from shaking my pom poms for you in private!” Brittany teased as she turned the ignition and let the truck’s large and loud engine roar into life.
“460?” Nathan asked in surprise as the motor turned over.
“Know your Fords? I knew there was a reason I liked you.” Brittany laughed. “Yeah, granddad and I put the 460 in her after the windsor threw a rod.”
And with that she threw the truck in reverse, feeling that she and Nathan would get along famously.

Today we're throwing it back to Brittany and Nathan's high school days.
Apparently "Hey Girl" actually came out in 2013 which would actually be a few years after Brittany and Nathan would have graduated from high school. Guess I should have researched that before I wrote the story!
Characters and story are mine.

Nathan is something of a rarity in the Lewd Brews universe.
Hybrids are roughly 10% of the US population, or around 30 million.
Giant furs (taller than 7 feet) like Brittany and Nathan are roughly 25% of the hybrid population of 8 million most of whom are probably shorter than Nathan.
