The Marshadow gulped, he didn’t realise that the Tapu Lele could sense him. He slowly rises from the shadow and looked completely scared. “S-sorry…” Caasi mumbled, looking a bit guilty, staring down at the ground. The Tapu Lele looked down at Caasi and stared for a few seconds. Suddenly the Tapu Lele squealed, “Oh my! So cute! Ya are a cute little marshmallow!”.
“Huh? Y-you’re not mad?” Caasi looked up towards the Tapu Lele, with dumbstruck written all over his face. “Why would I be mad, ya such a cutie!” The Tapu Lele picked up the Marshadow and started to give him a big snuggle. Caasi tried to reject the affection, he was not used to this much attention, “Thanks? We’ve only just met.” The Marshadow tried to push himself off the Tapu Lele’s grasp. “Oh sorry. I’m Fleur, nice to meet ya.” Fleur stopped the snuggling and just held him in the air with her arms, gazing at the cuteness.
“Caasi is my name.” Caasi tried to give a friendly look before looking down. Fleur gave a little squeak; she must’ve found that name to be cute or something. “Well, this is nice and all, but I must be going. I need to get to the gym. So, if you could please put me down…” Caasi struggled and couldn’t get out of the grasp. “I ain’t gonna hurt ya, and ya mention the gym? That’s where those explorers are going. Why would a child like ya be in the explorers?” Fleur gave a reassuring look with her eyes, trying to calm the Marshadow’s nerves. “I was pressured. Madeline was quite… excited.” Caasi mumbled as he tried to get down. “Urgh” Fleur grumbled with disgust, “Typical fighting types, always so reckless with their choices. Explorers are no good, Caasi. Ya better off joining Arcanists, that Espeon is really smart and quite handsome. He can teach you many things!”.
“I’m a fighting type.” Caasi looked up to Fleur to provide an annoyed look. “Oh, heh, not ya, silly.” Fleur chuckled, forgetting about the Marshadow’s typing. “Look, I’ll let ya go, but ya promise me to not dip into the shadow and run, okay?”. Caasi sighed, this Tapu Lele seemed pretty strong, he doubted he’d get very far before she uses her psychic to stop his movement. “F-fine.” He reluctantly agreed. Fleur carefully placed the Marshadow onto the ground, and was making sure that Caasi doesn’t just suddenly run off.
The Tapu Lele gave a questioning look on her face, “Are ya… lonely, Caasi?” Fleur asked. “Huh? What made you ask that?” Caasi replied. “I can read ya like a book, plus I am a psychic type. I have more awareness and quite observant.” Fleur crossed her arms, floated her head downwards to be head-level with the Marshadow, giving a big stare with her eyes, with Caasi staring back at hers. “Oh, I see.” Caasi felt a bit uneasy. “Did ya lose someone? Someone very close to ya?” Fleur blinked as she kept staring intensely at Caasi. The Marshadow looked shocked, how did she know? He realised what was going on and turned his head away, breaking eye contact with the Tapu Lele. “Please stop. I need to get to the gym. Leave me be.” Caasi started walking pass. “Caasi. Let me accompany ya. I want to help ya.” Fleur followed after.
“I appreciate you trying to help, but I’m better off on my own.” Caasi replied. “I’ll give ya many marshmallows! I’ll even let ya stay at my place if you want, the Explorers guild would be too hectic for ya.” The Tapu Lele floated ahead of the Marshadow. Caasi hesitated “I… would love some marshmallows.” He never had someone be so nice to him, the Tapu Lele seemed very welcoming, she had this motherly charm about her and seemed genuine, not a trick. Eventually Caasi couldn’t help but give a smile to Fleur, maybe she isn’t so bad after all. Caasi remembered why he joined the Explorers was due to how similar Madeline reminded him of his sister, and the gym would be a prime location for his sister to go to, she always loved training and fighting with others.
Fleur giggled, “Okay, we can discuss more of this later. Let’s get ya to the gym. Though, I want to have a word with Madeline.” The Tapu Lele sighed in annoyance, of course that stupid Hitmontop had to pick an innocent boy to be in her guild, so desperate, Fleur thought to herself.
