"Before venturing out to explore the Arolinac Region you'll have to choose a Pokemon to be your partner. Which will you choose? The fire type Embert, perhaps?"
Arolinac Pokedex #004
"Embert. The Short Fuse Pokemon.
Though cute and friendly, it has a very short temper and will lash out with it's sharp fangs and claws when angered."
Type: Fire
Height: 2' 7"
Weight: 20.3 lbs.
Abilities:
Blaze
Anger Point
Embert evolves into Fernie at level 16.
((One thing I was guilty of when I first began creating this region way back when was not basing the pokemon on the real plants and animals and things actually found here in the Carolinas. I was just coming up with ideas for types and evolutions without really thinking about whether they fit into a Carolinas inspired region or not. Embert isn't based on any type of real world animal. He's basically just a cute little fire monster.
You'll also notice that none of the starters I came up with follow the traditions of the real game starters. The fire starter is not based on an animal found in the Chinese Zodiac. This is because 1.) Back in the days of Gen 2 many of the traditions of the real games had not yet been established, and 2.) I'd rather not limit myself too strictly when it comes to creating Pokemon. I may try to adhere more closely to the traditions in my next region, but mostly I'm just having fun. That's also why I'm not bothering with established base stat totals for any of my pokemon. That's just way too much math for me.))
