B-25H Mitchell EAA Bound
I was utterly lucky as all hell as I saw this B-25H Mitchell Bomber flying to EAA Oshkosh flying low over my place and I was lucky to get a couple quick snaps of this magnificent warbird. BTW, This model of B-25 has a 75MM cannon installed in the nose, and was an utter SHOCK to the Japanese. Who couldn't imagine such a heavy weapon on an aircraft. They thought there was some sort of secret bomb throwing device. These cannon armed Mitchells wrought havoc on the Japanese navy as the bombers would come in low, strafing the ships with the forward firing .50s and pumping a 75MM round into the side of the ship , then drop and skip bomb a 500 pounder into the side of the ship.
What sucks is that I'm only 90 minutes away and can't afford to attend a single days visit right now. Cause I could easily do a day and free my head for a day at the annual Aviation Haj.
