Yup I came up with yet another new alien species. Boys and girls meet the Daj the Synkal. The Synkal are a race of synthetic life-forms. Their species was first created by a species call the Hetone around 7000 years ago. The Synkal unlike many synthetic species have bodies which closely mimic biology. Their bone structure is a durable carbon fiber alloy. Their muscles are made from silicon and are much denser then that of most organics lending them great strength. They have what to us would appear to be a circulatory system. But what flows through it is a white conductive liquid which easily distributes power from it's fusion core in it's chest through the entire body along with nanites with materials for maintenance or repair. Not long after they were created they began to gain sentience while a plague was decimating their creators. After less then a centuries the last Hetone had perished leaving their legacy to the Synkal.

Synkal are normally a quite peaceful and personable race. Though despite this they maintain a suitable standing military force. Their standard battle doctrine is not to obliterate their enemies however but to disable them. "Teach them they never want to be a threat to us again." Synkal are however a bit secretive when it comes to the workings of their own bodies to outsiders. A fallen Synkal will not allow itself to be captured. In the event of imminent death or indication of higher functions going offline their fusion core will go into critical melt down. The resulting explosion will completely destroy their body and any indivduals within a 70 meter blast radius.

Synkal generally come in two body types. Standard and military. Daj is an example of a more standard body type. Where as a military type body will be larger and more powerful. Military body types typically contain a dual fusion core system. This allows for greater strength and endurance as well as enables them to self power various devices. In the event of an emergency they can swap out one of their cores with an injured team mate or use it as a generator or improvised explosive. Military body models also tend to have Sub-epidermal armor to greater protection.

Overall though Synkal society is one based on betterment and knowledge. Synkal love to learn something new. Topic will vary greatly though between individuals. Some will love to learn about history. Others will take an interest in biology, or art, or technology. Though family ties are also important to them to a degree.

Synkal do not reproduce in a conventional sense. Prospective parents will apply to be parents and upon approval will be able to bring up a newly "born" Synkal baby. Synkal grow much as biological beings do and a childhood is essential for proper development of sentience. The child will be raised and taught some things by the parents. Basic knowledge is routinely installed during their sleep cycle over time. Simple things at first and then more and more complex. Synkal don't go to school. But they learn things not in program updates through life experience. Such as visiting a zoo. Learning a new trick or how to make something. The taste of a new food. Those sorts of things. The child's maturation is usually complete somewhere around age 20. Though it can take longer or shorter lengths of time depending on the individual.

As for their hair and mention of food consumption. The hair is purely for ascetics. To look good. Synkal after all do have emotions and like to good nice just like any other species. As for food. Synkal can taste and eat food that organics would but such food is mostly useless to them. Their own food contains variou synthetic materials to keep their bodies in tip top shape. Said food though good tasting and good for them would be foul tasting and likely toxic to an organic.

Daj here is a Synkal captain. He's head of a small swift Scout vessel. Usually their missions involve surveying planets and such and relaying data back to their homeworld and or exploration vessels which may find something of interest. Daj here finds the job boring but at the same time is happy he and his crew don't get shot at regularly. Daj tends to be a good commander. Thinks about protocols. Knows to keep the most important ones but that it's OK to sometimes skip over ones which are mostly formalities. Generally finds his job fulfilling. Here we see him testing out a new hand gun of his at a range on a remote outpost. Daj is wearing standard combat armor here. Probably just go done doing some combat sims. He'll have to put on a helmet though if he heads outside. Though it may look nice out there the planet's too hot to walk around on without a protection. The temps outside would melt a Synkal in minutes.
