It was late in the evening, Lilith was looking through her closet wondering what to wear. Azria and Lilith had been invited to a party by one of Lilith’s former colleagues and the two hadn’t been out on a night on the town for a while. Azria is busy with work, as well as Lilith. Every other space chance they got was spending time with the children. So, booking a night with Azria’s parents to babysit their children. The two got ready for the evening.
Eventually, Lilith settled on her most favourite dress. The blue and white medieval gown with ‘koru’ designs, native New Zealand ferns, that her good friend Lacy had designed for her for Azria and Lilith’s wedding. At the time, the dress had to be altered due to Lilith being heavily pregnant with their youngest daughter River at the time. Now, with that extra modifications are not needed. Lilith could freely wear it whenever she liked. Though, she hadn’t had the chance to, since then. Tonight, tonight would make up for that. She thought to herself.
Brushing her long soft hair Lilith finally made an appearance to her husband and parents. Azria was wearing a black shirt and pants, a dark blue waistcoat adorned on top and finally completed with a white tie. His glance at Lilith was soft and yet full of joy when his silver eyes looked to her, it could make her blush if she could. He stood to greet her, taking her by the hand gently. They said goodbye to Azria’s mother and father, a goodnight to their already dozing little ones, and headed off into the night.

The party was being held in a small suburb at the edge of the town. It was a large white house, modern contemporary and was easily three stories high, however, the top floor led up to a rooftop balcony where a variety of plants lined the edge and a sheltered area for people to sit and talk.
Upon entering the home, folks were already mingling around each other, with drinks and hors d'oeuvres lost in their own personal orbits, stopped what they were doing upon seeing the beautiful lady in the blue gown. Lilith’s colleague was first to step forward and welcomed her into their home, complimenting Lilith on her “fine choice of clothing, that would make a lot of people jealous of how good she looked in it.” Flattered, but not wanting to indulge herself in praise. Lilith thanked her friend, Lacy, for the design and put her name forward for any potential work. Even mentioning her friend, Ava, as another potential designer. Claiming it was their ideas, not her own. Which was partially the truth. She turned her attention to Azria and wanted to praise her husband on his outfit which complemented her own. Praises added to the couple made the two of them rather hot in embarrassment.

After introductions were held, the group of people eventually made their way up to the rooftop where they would have further discussions, food, drinks under the night sky admiring the starlight that shone above and the arm of the milky way which faintly stretched across the sky above. Lilith and Azria enjoyed small cocktail sausages, prosciutto and ricotta, crackers, toasties, and other small foods with a couple of nonalcoholic drinks to wash them down with. While the music played on a stereo in the corner to add to the mood.
The duo both found conversations to set into, Azria talked about his work and family, while Lilith talked about the projects that she had been working on in her photography and the future she wanted with it, and although both felines would only share brief moments with many of these people at the party. It was still an experience for the both of them, learning about stories of people’s lives, their adventures through Europe, America, Asia. People’s journeys of their life, how they came to be where they were today, what they do and what they wanted to do with their futures. There were even a couple there that were wanting to settle down. Politely, the feline couple told of their experiences they had with their little ones and the joys that the four of them had given the couple and even brought them closer together. Seemingly, convincing the other two into trying for their own children.

Eventually, as the night began to float away and the hour grew later and later, people began to tend to their needs at home and leave, quieting down. Lilith and Azria moved towards the end of the balcony away from the lingering crowd who still murmured amongst themselves. The young couple enjoyed just being in each other’s company, beneath the starlight. The two of them soon were in each other’s arms, entwined with each other’s embrace, the two cats swayed gently side to side as they mingled in each other’s presence, closed out to the rest of the party. Azria eventually lifted his head, and placed a hand on Lilith’s cheek, as her emerald green eyes locked with his steel. He spoke in hushed tones that only she could hear, “Honey, you look wonderful tonight. The love in your eyes is so bright. There is nothing I can say to express just how much I love you.” They couple then embraced, in a lovers kiss.
