Hachi is my genderbending, shapeshifting fursona xD
Description copy-pasta'd from DA:
Hi this is my fursona Hachi =^_^= lolz desu.
Uh,
okay so this is really messily made, but she needed a new ref, like, badly.
Hachi has been my fursona since 6th grade. And no, she's not a dog. She's a raccoon/tanuki hybrid thing.
She can only turn into things that she's seen before, since she's only half tanuki.
She has more forms than the ones above, but those are her main forms. (And yeah, the cardinal, tiger cub, and horse are from another picture I never finished OTL)
Hachi's gender:
Hachi is genderless.
Though her forms take on different genders by name, it is only in terms of how each form acts and appears. None of her forms have any discernible gender in terms of body parts. They're all void.
Hachi is called "she", simply because it's what she prefers. She can also be called a "he", or etc.
<b>Hachi's Themes:</b>
Hachi has three themes that have specific meaning to her character. They can be interpreted however you like. Here they are in order of importance:
<b><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOogX4Lzp1k">Shizuku - Kagrra,</a></b>
Shizuku is the only song that has ever made me cry.
Something about it just hits every single fragment of my soul, in a beautiful way. Kagrra, has and always will be my favorite band, but this song describes me and also my fursona more than any words are capable of. It is just a musical masterpiece that I can listen to on repeat and still get the same mournful and sad feeling that it gives me now.
It is definitely Hachi's, and my own, theme song in life. As well as my favorite song of all time.
<b><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoTdWKs2ZsM">Nothing and Everything - RED</a></b>
Nothing and Everything is the perfect song for Hachi and her Monochrome. This is a slower version of another song by Red called "Fight Inside", which used to be Hachi's theme before I found this song.
This song illustrates Hachi's inner struggle amazingly, as well as her own relationship and conflicts with her Monochromatic self, or her depression. It gives off an eerie and almost scary feel, just as Hachi feels in her dreams when confronted with Monochrome.
The entire sound of the song describes Hachi's sadness better than I could. The lyrics are perfect for describing Hachi's point of view, and they are sung in a way that plays out her feelings as well. It's just a beautiful song.
<b><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrNzKEMD2Zc">Bright Side of Life - Rebelution</a></b>
This song describes Hachi outside of her sadder side. Hachi is really an optimist, and this is how she would feel 24/7 were it not for her depression.
I would describe more, but this is a very recent addition to my theme song list for Hachi and myself OTL
Now, onto the long description P:
----
<b>Monochrome Hachi (original dog form):</b>
If any of you guys remember my last account on here, and have an AMAZING memory, then you probably remember my Monochrome concept.
Everyone has a Monochrome, ja? xD
Hachi classifies her original Monochrome form as "Depression" (since, like me, she suffers from it too xD). The reason why I call it Depression is because in real life, back when my own depression was getting really bad, I often referred to it like it was a real person. I personified my disease, and Hachi does the same.
Hachi's Monochrome has the ability to throw Hachi out of the real world and into a dream world that she can't get out of by waking up. Monochrome expresses extreme interest in Hachi, yet also is the cause of almost all of the problems that she has had. Monochrome seems to be obsessed, even in love with Hachi, in a very sick fashion. She's sadistic and takes pleasure in seeing her hurt, yet never expresses any hatred towards Hachi.
Monochrome's scar glows orange due to Hachi's emotions when Monochrome appears. It's only an illusion created by Hachi's mind, however. (you seriously think I'd make it glow irl? that's stupid, lol)
Original dog Monochrome and Original Hachi dog are the same size.
Monochrome always has hair from the human form for some reason, however. It's unknown why.
Monochrome can take the form of any other of Hachi's transformations (in monochromatic scheme obviously) except for the bull.
All Monochrome forms are grayscale with extremely saturated eyes depending on who's monochrome it is.
Monochrome doesn't fear Hachi because whenever Hachi inflicts harm on her Monochrome, Hachi receives the same injury.
<b>Monochrome Owl:</b>
The Monochrome Hachi owl is referred to as "Hysteria" by Hachi. The owl is the second form her original Monochrome can turn into, but she can only turn into it if Hachi is in her owl form.
Unlike Original Hachi's owl form, Monochrome owl is male.
The Monochrome Owl is unable to speak in anything more than laughter and shrieking. Not much is known about him, but he's very dangerous and won't hesitate to kill Hachi.
Like the original Monochrome, Monochrome Owl has the x-shaped scar, but whenever he appears in Hachi's dream his scar appears to be enflamed. This is more than likely due to Hachi owl's fear affecting the glowing illusion to the extreme.
<b>"Monster":</b>
Monster, as Hachi nicknames it, is a form special to her Monochrome.
Monster is incapable of doing much to Hachi aside from hitting her with a limb. Monster is extremely frightened of Hachi and will do anything to make her leave. Monster is notable for it's ear-shattering shriek that it emits upon sight of Hachi in her dream. Hachi is, in turn, very frightened of Monster, but at some points must attempt to fight with it to escape her dream. Monster is androgynous and is simply referred to as an "it".
Monochrome Hachi is able to separate from Monster and keep her original form while leaving Monster as it is. This is the only time Hachi, in any form, is able to keep two forms at once.
It's suspected that since Hachi cannot turn into a wolf (despite that she's seen them before), Monster is the wolf form of Monochrome.
Monster is solid black form that seems to seep liquid from it's body while maintaining it's shape. It's eyes and mouth are illuminated white.
<b>The Bull:</b>
The bull is a manifestation of Hachi's anger. The bull cannot be turned into at will, but only in her dreams, hallucinations, and etc. at times where Hachi's emotions are near overwhelming.
The bull is the only thing that Monochrome is afraid of. Monochrome cannot turn into a bull, and Hachi's bull form is her strongest form. When Hachi is in bull form she's blinded (her eyes are solid blue without pupils) by madness and can easily kill anything seeing as her horns in bull form are oversized.
The bull was the first form Hachi discovered to be able to change genders. She is male in bull form.
<b>The Dog:</b>
Hachi, in dog form, is a mix between a smooth collie and a kai ken. She only has hair in dog form when she is changing from human into dog. She can't get hair any other way. It's believed to be a genetic defect.
Though Hachi is not actually a dog, this is how she is normally seen. Hachi's favorite form is her dog form.
<b>The Raccoon/Tanuki:</b>
This is Hachi's original form, and easily her most comical looking. In this form she can change into any of her other forms, and vice versa. Her raccoon-dog self can only appear if she is changing into it from this form. Strangely enough, though Hachi has never seen a raccoon-dog, she can turn into one, but she can't turn into a raccoon, which she has seen before.
<b>The Owl:</b>
The owl is Hachi's fears, embarrassment and anxiety. She turns into the owl whenever she wants to escape a situation. As an owl, Hachi is extremely skittish and easy to scare.
This is the only form where she is wearing a blue-stone necklace.
<b>Why is Hachi a dog by default?</b>
I love dogs. I know it's cliche to have yourself be a dog on DeviantArt, but throughout my life I often thought about how easy life would be if I were like my old dog. I wished I was a dog when I was younger, I'll admit. I still sort of do since they always seem so happy and etc. Thus, Hachi is mostly drawn as a dog just because of my love of dogs.
<b>The x-shaped scar:</b>
Hachi's x-shaped scar is her most well known and exaggerated scar. It used to be only one slash after an encounter with her Monochrome via issues with others that she knew. Hachi attacked her Monochrome, giving her the single slash, and thus she received the same wound. It was the first time Monochrome inflicted lasting harm on Hachi.
She received the second part of the scar after Monochrome pretended to be someone Hachi had a lot of trust in. After she was lied to, and discovered how her Monochrome was the cause of all the pain those around her experienced, a similar conflict to the first time occurred, and Hachi received her second slash.
After that, the scar gradually spread out over her body until Hachi managed to stave off her depression to some point. It takes up more than half of the front of her body.
<b>The eye scar:</b>
This scar was caused by Monochrome. The circumstances are unknown.
<b>The slashed ear:</b>
The scar on Hachi's ear is only known to be in her cat form. Once again, the circumstances are unknown.
<b>Other Information:</b>
All of these traits are shared with my own personal traits.
Hachi is bisexual with a strong female preference. She can still find males attractive, however, she hates the thought of being in a male-female relationship more than other kinds of relationships. Hachi doesn't desire a relationship of any kind in the slightest.
Hachi has issues with trusting others after her x-shaped scar was fully formed. She used to be overly trusting, but now she tends to just keep friends close but without intimacy that normal close friendships have.
Hachi enjoys being alone.
Hachi is a pacifist and doesn't believe in unneeded violence. She will only fight in self defense or if it's absolutely needed.
...Hachi likes sunflowers. A lot.
Hachi's name is derived from the story of HachiKo. HachiKo trusted his master enough to the point where he eventually died waiting for him at a train station, a while after his master had died while away. Like HachiKo, trust is a strong element in her character.
----
If there's anything else you'd like to know, just ask me xD I'm a-okay with questions about my fursona.
And no, I'm not a furry. I can use the word "fursona" without being a furry, believe it or not.
