This chapter introduces Clara, Mylee, Mindy, and Majesty, though not yet named. We also sort of see Daniel in little-head-space for the first time and find out humans DO, in fact, exist in this world. They can't actually understand the Pokémon, nor can they see them using human appliances. Think of the Mist, from Percy Jackson. It's sort of like that.

The text does raise the question on the degree to which reproduction exists in this setting. In the pokemon games, breeding is partially alluded to, but there is also a fundamental mystery regarding how eggs appear. The text does reference intercourse, but it's difficult to tell if that implies standard reproduction or something more esoteric, as in the series.
Well, I suppose the eggs would function sort of like an amniotic sac. They'd develop inside the mother, then pop out once they gain their hard shell. Afterwards, the task is to keep the egg warm so the baby inside can develop, sort of like chicken eggs.
