Just a bit of philosophy for you.
I'm ashamed to admit, when I was 10, I went through a phase of hating Tom & Jerry, seeing it as anti-cat propaganda (I didn't actually use the word "propaganda", obviously; you know what I mean). I've always been a huge cat lover, so at that age, I couldn't stand seeing cat villains/antagonists in media. Same went for any animal I really liked, for instance, I resented Angry Birds for having pig villains. Of course, now that I'm older, I've learned not to be so stuffy about this sort of thing. As long as they work as a villain, who cares what animal they are? This is one example of how our viewpoint changes with age.
That's my late cat in Panel 7. When I was born, my parents already had two cats named Cerberus ("Cerby") and Jack Dempsey ("Dempsey"). I've been told my uncle (Dad's brother) found their mother abandoned in a dumpster, then, upon finding out she was pregnant, offered to let my dad have a couple of her kittens (turns out, she only had two!) I didn't like Cerby much, since he always hissed at me, but I loved Dempsey a lot. He was super patient and always let me pet him. He may be the reason I love cats so much. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago. It was his time; he was old and suffering from diabetes.
In Panel 8, it may be obvious to some of you that I'm alluding to TheMysteriousMrEnter. I've talked about him before. I got into him at age 15 and thought he knew everything. I even preached his words around, which kinda got me in trouble. I don't hate the guy now, heck, I still watch each new video of his (though I don't re-watch his older videos much anymore) but I feel ashamed for worshipping him, especially when he acted like this in the past.
I believe I've said this before, but I absolutely cannot STAND those awful rant videos the GoAnimate community makes. I know I should expect something like that to be bad, but it doesn't make the things any less unbearable. They're lazy, intelligence-insulting, and so devoid of intelligent logic and reasoning that they make me want to scream. I can't believe they have fans, even if those "fans" are brain-dead tweens like I was who blindly agree with everything they hear. At least even at his worst, Mr. Enter TRIES to pose decent arguments. The guys making those things substitute actual arguments and analyses for nonsense and childish insults! I really don't want to insult anyone who likes the things, since it IS their opinion at the end of the day, but I WOULD like to hear someone who does defend them on a technical level without arguments like, "They talk bad about stuff I hate", or, "It's their content; they can do what they want!", or, "It's just my opinion!"
Anyway, the conversation in Panel 10 is one I'm not proud of, where I said stuff I shouldn't have said. I found a GoAnimate rant video I apparently watched a while back. It was on Paw Patrol, which I've not seen enough to have an opinion of (though some of you will probably tell me I should watch it). At one point, the guy said, "The characters like to smoke p*t, eat poop for dinner, drink pee when they're thirsty, go to school naked, and wear diapers as their underwear". Freaking stupid, right?
Now, many videos of the sort say things like that, but that might've been the first time I'd heard it. I may not have known what to think of it. I remembered making a Paw Patrol diaper art joke ("Oh boy, just wait till you see the fan-art!), which was apparently deleted. Apparently, I also said, "Do you realize how stupid that whole segment sounds?", which wasn't deleted, and I had a reply reading, "Shut the fuck up!". Not sure I actually meant it out of malice, just, "Dude, that sounds so dumb. Why would you put that in there?", but that's obviously not how the replier took it. Now, here's what I'm not proud of: I responded by saying, "YOU shut up!". I regret saying that; I should've said something more reasonable. Later on, someone said I was trash, though from the way they worded it, part of me thought maybe it was bad grammar and they agreed with me, or maybe I was deluding myself. Either way, someone later said they didn't agree and said I was trash. The incident still haunts me. I feel like I'm no better than Clay Claymore or that toxic Gen. 5 hater I talked about in my previous comic, along with a hypocrite for hating them.
Like I said, that's my grandpa in the last panel. This is what he's been doing lately: sitting on the sofa, binge-watching Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy. "My erudite dad", my mom laughs.
On an unrelated note, part of my bathrobe is immortalized in this picture.
