"Ha! Senseless being. Clumsy feet! No fur! How does your wretched kind even survive the perils of the world? Nothing but parasites, you are!" -Grinn, belittling a human prisoner.
Wars and skirmishes alike cannot be won by sheer numbers or brute force alone. Careful surveillance and intelligence of the land and one's enemies are the true keys to victory. Even as the very surface of Norrath shifted and changed in the wake of The Rending, no race adapted quicker than the various gnolls of Norrath. Or, those clans that survived that is. Even as their home changed around them, the Blackburrow clan always persevered. Always remained. Always defiant. In the new age, with the violent chief Skulltooth being in control of the clan, he needed trustworthy individuals who possess an aptitude for bloodthirst that could match his, and an eagerness for battle and to inflict harm upon the Qeynosians. Grinn, though relatively young in his age, was more than happy to rise to the challenge of gaining Skulltooth's favor. With carefully-laid traps and deceptive tricks, Grinn was responsible for over fifty human casualties within two weeks, which is rather impressive for one his age. Grinn isn't his real name, but given to him on the grounds he always carries a grinning, haughty smirk upon his face. As a result of being chosen as the chieftain's 'head scout', Grinn developed an even more arrogant attitude far beyond his own size, always boasting about his kills and usually speaking the loudest during feasts. So long as he carries Skulltooth's favor, nobody can really touch him, lest they incur the wrath of the chieftain. Although, unlike most excessive-braggers in the world, Grinn can at least back up his talk. His cavernous room within the Blackburrow lair is decorated with every skull of his victims, enough to fill two large chests. Surely for one so young, his future looks bright in his career. A career earned with blood and rewarded with even more blood. For Grinn, he wouldn't have it any other way.
