Can you believe it? This was a real novel, published sometime in the 60s, I guess. The painter is actually a well known paperback professional, named Robert Bonfils. His work is often salacious, but so far as I know this particular cover is unique.

This is a fairly notorious SF novel; I think heywulf first showed me a copy years ago. By all accounts I've read, it's a pretty mediocre book.
I found it at a garage sale sometime in the mid-70's for a dime and thought it might be interesting. If you've ever read National Lampoon's "Bored of the Rings" it's pretty much along the same flavor. If it wasn't 300 miles away in my sister's storage room, I'd dig it up for a refresher, but as I recall, I didn't get halfway through before I retired it to a box.

Oh yeah, this one came across my desk a couple times during the years I worked for an online bookseller. Came within an inch of buying it, but I figured I'd just be disappointed. Nothing the book might contain by way of story could top the sheer, cheerful ridiculousness of that cover!
