One of my earliest experiments this year was where I wanted to try out brush-style lines instead of the usual ink and toon shading.
Inspired by a random pic I found online, I wondered to myself, what would an anime-style monkey girl look like? I so I came up with my own and then made a world where what if humans did not evolve to be the dominant species but some other monkey species did... hundreds of thousands of years later you get these humanoid monkeys who have their share of everyday problems as we do! lol
Zuki and Ekiri are roommates in their college-age. Zuki is an artist, who is quite outgoing and likes to express herself and learn. Ekiri is shy, a little insecure about her short stature, and struggles to find a skill she's good at in pursuing a major.
Normally, I prefer drawing in my western style, but I am quite happy with how anime-like these girls came out. Got a couple more images of them to upload here.
