Dragons of Stalagshire 8 - The lesser evil
Humour these days isn't so bad. It could be worse.

The comic makes sweeping statements for the sake of brevity, but it has existed even ten-twenty years ago and more here and there in media. Freak shows in circuses where people get to laugh at midgets and disfigured people. Being called gay was synonymous for 'bad' (back when I was young at least. And going back further in history, the whole blackface humour. Not everyone finds it funny back then, but it existed.
This one does confuse me a bit and seems a bit out of the ordinary that I normally see you post.
I've been through some places I won't talk about here and been on the receiving end of discrimination too. I'm younger than Kajm, but I do recall a time when people did find racism and discrimination funny and it wasn't just in the states; and it still exists in the world too. I think wing693789 ( why so many numbers? ) is referring to the word "gay" meaning "happy" in a very upbeat way a long time ago, perhaps? It did, but I have no idea how it got changed. They also historically use to use the word "queer" to describe "a weird person". And also "guy" to refer a rando you just met or saw.
I get the internet is bad because I can't even say "guy" ( to someone who clearly looks like a male ) any more to strangers without gettin' yelled at or ask someone for a "fag" when I'm out without getting shouted at, but I've seen and lived worse. I have to agree with what rns9292 said to be honest. Though this comic I think maybe goes over my head a little. Or maybe what I've lived through makes it hard to understand? Sorry about the big reply here.

I like experimenting with different types of humour. This one is abit more on the contemplative side...edging towards absurd. But that was the risk I was willing to take.
But yeah people's experiences colour their perception of how humour was like many years ago, and some may see the problems more evidently than others. There are people who don't see the problems when they're not at the receiving end of it. Do agree that people have grown super sensitive these days and need to learn to have a stronger backbone.
The big takeaway from this comic is, people's sense of humour have not changed. There's no originality in humour back then by using racism as a way for people to be funny just as there's no originality with humour these days in endlessly copying meme quotes. The only factor of comparison I was trying to make in the comic was people being unoriginal with their jokes, and not so much which form of humour was worse.
Of course, there is also good humour back then just as there is good humour today.

I see, thanks for helping clarify it Rim! I think I understand now. <3
Anyone else who might seem a little confused too, hopefully this helps them. Perhaps not such a bad thing I asked after all, since I think this all turned out to be a very good thing! Thanks again. Keep making awesome comic pieces! =D
