Trope engaged: Last Second Word Swap. x3 C'mon, it's always funny.
I decided to expand upon the dinner a bit, and also to give Rae (whose name is short for Raeda) here a bit more screen time than she got. Ramin's mom is one of those gentle mothers and good, family-providing wives. Ramin inherits his good nature from her. Doesn't mean that she doesn't speak her mind if she's ticked, though. x3
She's also a magic-based healer. Another fun fact: magic-based professions aren't as common in the modern world of the comic as it was a long time ago, but it's still pretty prevalent. Lately, there's been more of a push to modernize technology and to push back the use of magic, depending on how useful it is. There are four types of magic: Light, which priests and healers use; Elemental, which Laan practices; Dark, which was more studied than practiced because of its necromantic properties and as such was cut at the roots and is practically extinct; and Mind, an also nearly-extinct art; which Liz practices as a Psionic, and the kind deemed most dangerous after Dark.
Only Light magic is seen as useful in the modern age, the rest all potentially evil or dangerous. It depends on the person and their family reputation as to whether or not they can still practice it. Ramin as a knight's son was given special permission to also practice magic-based healing, like his mother. Time will tell which path he'll actually take.
Enjoy! x3
