It is nice that they both seem to be more relaxed around each other since both of them have problems but when the two of them can just hang out for awhile it does seem like those problems aren't so dire... well at least for a little while at least which just makes those moments even more precious.
I love this.
We've seen that, as a yinglet, Kass is as high-strung and easily startled as any other yinglet -- possibly moreso, since his human mind is not used to the physical reactions of her yinglet body.
If anyone else had unexpectedly appeared in a doorway like that, Kass might have freaked out.
But not Isher. Because for KASS, Isher is A Safe Place, and always will be.

I was going to say that it wouldn't work for Isher because she needs the emotional stability but then I thought about making her the emotional center of the relationship. I can see the three of them in bed, exhausted after a long day of work. Sheet haplessly yet artfully covering them. Isher in the center, hair fanned out beneath the trio. Elim and Kass collapsed, cuddling into her lazily yet still protectively. The 2 on the sides, too exhausted to portray any emotion but Isher sleeping with a very well earned comforted, contented, cherubic smile on her face.
Isher really, REALLY needs an understanding guy that can look past her, er, unique features. For me, the draconic tail would be a bonus, not a put-off, and I love platonic cuddles. We'd just need to get her some leather sheaths for the talons.

Isher's optimism hurts me, and I can't pinpoint exactly why. Also, panel five looks wonderful. I feel like the light is meant to emphasize her optimism over her clearly disconcerting expression. Sure, she's smiling, but her puffy eyes say something different. It's like how I always feel like shit all the time but pretend everything's fine. I suppose I find this page painfully relatable.

I appreciate the dark half split of that last panel. She's trying to be positive, but in reality, this sort of bs she has to tolerate is soul crushing. Not unlike darkness I suppose.
I love this comic in general btw, one day it'll end and I'll be megasad. This story is a nice ride.

He/him is what he doesn't know enough to request. In the time period, gender dysphoria is not a developed and serious subject that won't get laughed down. But he experiences it for sure, especially when he has "female thoughts" due to his new hormones. Yeah they aren't very PC about it. Kass mostly accepts when he is called she/her, and has once or twice to Vizlet called himself that. Not feeling good about it.
Folks like vizlet, ran and viracrox call him her/she because of the reality they see. His friends call him/he because the good friend they know and love. Kass accepts being misgendered because his story is not publically known much and to demand such might compromise secrets the terrifying Viracrox Val Salia might... dissaprove of. He's asked Ran to ask Viracrox in a report of his so far, but that hasnt gotten screen time since.
Though Isher seems to be calling him Kassie more than not, and though the prelude is short I'm not aware if that was a prior habit or if she's projecting the dissapointment of her crush or what.
To be completely correct its he/him. But the audience and the cast are varied in their reactions. Some of the audience is into gender transformation or follows some of the characters lead so often misgenders. Author themselves is not helpful either, referring to physicality and personality in turn, but he's gotten better at it since the beginning haha. *Shrug* it's good practice, i wont say not important, but less feelings are hurt for fictional characters. Not no feelings, trans folks in the comments have been touchy about it before. i think.
