
And here he is with all his glazing. Interesting to compare to the underpainting. Glazing colour on top of a monochrome underpainting is an old master technique I picked up from a book. It's fun, especially laying down the glazes. After the colour is all laid down I go in with a blackwing pencil and coloured pencils to do final details. Then white acrylic in to punch up those final highlights. This was inspired by the lovely illustrations of Omar Rayyah.
