A lovely fluffy adopt I got from
SherraBast shout outs all around to them for allowing me to be the keeper of this majestic being. ^_^
What's the first thing to come to mind when you hear of a dense forest or jungle area covered in a perpetual fog? What could be living in a land only briefly touched by sunlight? What does nature not want outsiders to see? Is there something magical there? Something valuable? Something dangerous? Or just an (un)fortunate piece of the world covered often by clouds with nothing to really show?
The answer is, all of the above. And Leiko here told me of how that was all true. Living in such a jungle where not much light can reach plants under the blanket, Leiko could easily pick out when there was a new presence in the fog. While I wasn't looking for anything to steal, I had heard pray tell of glowing plants in the forest. The story goes that flowers and other plants of this forest give off glows of different colors when the night falls, giving off what seem like orbs of energy or even pollen. The mystery is, what causes this? Plants removed from the area do not glow even when replanted in other areas. Plants brought in to be grown in the soil from outside the forest do not glow either. So what was it? What made them glow? I'm no scientist and I'm certainly no genius but I wanted to see it for myself.
Leiko is an inhabitant of the forest area. With fur a soft and light array of colors he blends easily against the fog itself, almost as if he moves with it. I felt someone near by so very often while walking but I could not see anyone. You could almost say his form is ghostly. While not naturally hostile, this land is his home and would prefer it if you did not do any damage to the nature here. If you get lost, he'll lead you back to the way you came in. I don't know how he does it, but almost like an avatar of the fog itself he can appear in multiple places at once. A ghost, but solid to the touch. At one point he's there, and the next he's gone if he so wished it. Those eyes glow a blue light similar to the colors the plants give off but when I asked if he was responsible for the glow, he simply shook his head. While he doesn't speak much at all, he seems to be incredible at reading people. He hides nothing, he just lives here as he says. Unsure of where he comes from exactly or why he guides people out who have lost their way. The fog thickens or thins out as it wills. Is this forest alive in a different way? Sources tell that he is the last thing they see before being swallowed up by thick fog and waking up outside the forest with a lost sense of time if they wish to do harm. Another source calls this area the Phantom Forest, that the forest is a graveyard or resting place for spirits of the land surrounding it. Outside forces do not seem to effect the fog or the foliage either. Only within the forest can you do any damage. If he is a creation of the fog, I am not sure. But that would actually be my best guess.
