One of the protagonists of Paul Kidd's never-published Albedo novel. Such a shame. It was grand stuff, but it sort of left the socio-political ramifications stuff in the background and focussed on a lesbian romance between a pair of diplomats instead.
Which is not to say there weren't plenty of intrigues, dramatic political moments, and at least one shooting that I recall...
Still, in the end run, the proferred package was deemed not up to Il Duce's standards and it is highly unlikely that it will ever see the light of day.

It's not about the publisher. It's about the person who holds all the copyrights on the Albedo universe. And it's not really about the lesbianism, either. More about having total personal control of his universe and not letting others write/draw into it...And I can somewhat understand that perspective.
I have no idea. He was angry more often than not when I saw him at cons, and openly and intensely contemptuous of the fandom.
He turned up at one con that I recall (I believe it was a NorWesCon) distributing self-printed FIJASOI (Fandom Is Just A Source of Income) t-shirts to any of the other dealers who would take them.
His primary claim to fame is having been there at the beginning, with one of the first comic books out there. Unfortunately in the last twenty years if you study his art, you will see very little change or improvement, and his mode of dealing with most aspiring artists was sometimes quite hypocritically harsh.
I once watched him completely shred Chris Grant's (Empires) artwork, commenting that there was nothing new about it and clearly all of Chris's vehicles were based on real designs and that he should try using his imagination.
...This from the guy who worked in aerospace illustration for decades and published a comic book full of aerodynes practically traced from Boeing 'future concept' art.
